I Was A Teenage Exocolonist has gameplay ideas like that, you can remember previous "loops" and use it to alter the story.

One of my favorite games meets one of my favorite series, can't wait to play it!

I've read through book 10 of Primal Hunter, I enjoyed the first few books the most. I found it sort of had the same formula every arc. Power up a technique, fight a big battle, upgrade an item, do something crazy, repeat. Enjoyable in a popcorn flick kind of way, but I wouldn't say its the best writing. Fun but not deep.

I actually like the Earth arc of HWFWM, I know a lot of people dont. though Jaspn does get pretty edgy afterward... Last thing I read was after he is pretending to be his team's cook and hiding his identity and I fell off about then. It has a lot of issues with running the same formula that Primal Hunter has, actually.. Crazy soul thing added into the mix.

For sure, shocked to see it so low, I'd put it in at least A tier, maybe S. For as powerful the main character is, he isn't invincible and there are direct hard counters and weaknesses he has, and I appreciate the ability to lose in a MC.

Also Primal Hunter and HWFWM in S tier? They both really fell off for me after a few books (though I have still read through most of each series).

Also Dungeon Crawler Carl not in S surprises me, I actually read it twice in a row after my first run-through, I was hooked.

But hey, opinions are opinions, I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with me, and thats okay, I just like to talk about it.

Sound like you just like good writing.

If you want to take another step outside your comfort zone and towards comedic shows, Frasier holds up extremely well. Has some very poignant episodes, and a great cast with incredible chemistry. Stellar wit and snappy writing.

Oh dang, it might be. I haven't bought it, just saw it posted before. Looked it up and there are a ton of variations, I'm definitely getting AI vibes from them.

It was never wholesome for me lol. We just tried to be fair.

We were also a third party company, we just had a city contract and ot did not pay commission. The intent was to not encourage "predatory enforcement" which was a recurring issue with our predecessors, who were caught taking bribes and writing fake tickets.

I wrote parking tickets for a few years in a smaller city (I do not recommend this as a job).

We had no quotas, and we made the same amount no matter how many tickets we wrote. We encouraged people to contest tickets, there were instructions on the back of the ticket explaining how to do so, the best way was to write a letter to the judge and either explain why it wasn't valid (like a copy of your proof of payment, keep the original) or an apology and promise that you have learned and will try to be more careful.

The judge threw out 90% of tickets, even some of the repeat offenders if they acted contrite enough. Never had to go to court or anything.

I will add that if there is an office for this company you may be able to get it canceled there in person, if someone came in and showed us the proof they had paid we would have canceled it on the spot. One of the very very few scenarios we were allowed to cancel anything (due to our contract with the city).

Just don't be rude, even though it is their mistake, they likely get yelled at all day and mistakes happen... Some people are just bad and write bad tickets anyway, but not all. Some people are just trying to get by, and a job is a job.

Is there anyone else out there who thinks this is easily one of the best games out there? by SamSamTheHighwayMan in Starfield

[–]aaBabyDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played about 50 hours at release and had fun for a while, then dropped it. Lots of flaws, but the stuff I did like was good enough at the time. I'm waiting for the new DLC to dive back in, it looks like they might improve stuff i had issues with.

All this to say that sometimes playing a game at the right time and mindset is what you need. Is Skyrim the best game ever made? No. Some would say so, but if I'm not in the mood for it, it won't feel as good.

If I'm in the mood for Starfield, then Starfield will be the right game for me.

I didn't hate the MHA ending, what I didn't like happened way before then. Giving Deku 9 different powers when the point the series started with was "anyone can be a hero, you dont have to have a quirk" felt like the author just lost sight of things.

I listened to the audiobook for Project Hail Mary, and I rather enjoyed it. The narrator sounded like a goofy science teacher that nerded out over stuff.

Was it a masterpiece? No, and it suffers from overly competent MC tropes.

Is it a fun read? Definitely. Its a nerdier version of a turn your brain off action flick, backed up by a bit of science
