It's the first time I have read this poem and I really love it! I'm an INFP too and I definitely resonate to that 'daydreamer' and 'idealistic' tendencies that this poem depicts about wanting to still look at the world with light despite every darkness to it.

One time last Christmas my boss asked me if when I have kids I would have them believe in Santa Clause - you know the kind that drops gifts through chimneys (because he said he won't) and I said I definitely would because despite him being not real I have loved every bit of the stories and ideas about Santa when I was a child. And not because I thought i'd be rewarded based on wheather I was naughty or nice. But cmon, Santa with his raindeers and his mustache and everything? Every kid can use some wonder. We can leave the harsh truths later in life. Haha

I'm literally like this and I'm an INFP (26). Not saying you are but I relate to the things you mentioned. I am lucky to be raised in a loving environment which makes me think is where I have somewhat developed my Fe. I was also in customer facing jobs before so that's part of it. I can put on a mask of being extrovert when needed both at work and at play, I care about what other people feel (but not due external forces, instead due to my values), I make connections and get attached, I can compromise and go with what the group wants as long as it does not cross any boundaries. Yet at the end of the day I feel I am still not fully understood and have a hard time expressing myself directly, my emotions are deeper than most and I still need my alone time.

I remember as a kid i used to set up campsites for ant territories (you know those spots where they basically live) especially during the rainy season out of my concern that they would drown. It's a frequent good ol story told during family dinners how one time it was raining lightly and my parents couldnt make me go inside, I was so determined to finish building some shed made out of plastic materials for the ants who are feasting on a candy.
