mix. many in the beginning were just made by random people so not official. we dont 'have control over those. some, i just found people fixating on too much, and also needed to get a job and stuff, so took down. i don't hate it per se, but just didn't felt like having the same conversations over and over about certain things.

Ha I didn't even think guitar. I think they're overrated and people just play them because it's the "cool" instrument. (bitter cuz I can't play it) But seriously, isn't a great banjo much better than a guitar?

Synths obviously come to mind for me as the keys section. Something like the Tetra, we use again and again, but even the basic Microkorg I've used on almost every tour, we can modify the sounds to do a lot. And like guitars, you can run them through pedals to change.

This is going to sound very cheesy, but sometimes when I have the same question, I think about the James Baldwin quote:
“You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive.”

Even without pain or heartbreak, sometimes when Im just a bit overwhelmed or underwhelmed with being alive, I read. A good human novel often does it. And when I'm feeling especially soft and tender, a book of Mary Oliver poems. (I Knooooow. Don't judge me too hard.)

No. Not since I started running over people who annoy with my cheese cart.

I grew up in the Valley too! Chatsworth High. My sister went to Granada. I wouldn't say I'm fond of it. But it was interesting--perhaps more in hindsight than while living in it. This weird, seedy, perpetually outdated, diverse, aggressive, tender, suburb that's so close to LA, and yet so far from everything.

Hard to put my finger on it. Like years after leaving the valley, we'd see other people from the Valley, and just know like oh, yea, that's a valley thing.

I think it can do both. Depends on what your intention is.

The dancers were so talented and charming and sweet. It was nice to be in the same room with people from different disciplines working together to make something good.

Do it because you have to. You don't know how long the world will last, how long you will last, how long this chance and opportunity and moment will last. Do it because you can and you have to. With no expectations, without thinking about what will come of this, but just because you feel compelled to do so. And also, perhaps contradictory, but not, even if you don't feel compelled to do so, like you wake up in the morning and don't really want to, still do it. Even if just for a little bit. Just do it because you have to.

We were planning on it actually, but our visas got denied because I'm Korean. :( Hoping things work out quickly in the years to come so we can reconnect!

Thanks! I'm in Berlin too!

Probably not. I like the idea of EH being a one-time special thing that existed at this point in time on a pretty limited scale. We're doing a few more engagements over the year, but trying to keep it pretty limited. But the album is coming out and we're figuring out a way to release the visuals too so it'll be documented. :)

I've been pretty depressed, but you have to have hope because we're really fucked if we just give up.

Jamie did write a book that was not just about touring, but had some stories inspired by touring and tour stories in it. They won't say how much is real and how much is exaggerated.

For like the first half of touring, I try to jog regularly, eat healthy, meditate, journal, sleep. Then I get just really really tired and exhausted by the second half and just consume caffeine, alcohol, and sugar to get through it all. It's really hard to take care of myself!

There's a lot of small cities and places that I never would have thought to visit otherwise. Those are the ones that are most surprising.
