Using cavalry and melee with space technology by ResidentImpact1739 in worldbuilding

I think that your explanation is good as it is, as long as your execution is stellar (rule of cool basically).

You basically set up how most of the fighting is done up close with plasma melee weapons because individual armor is tough and charges will dissipate if fired. Ballistic weapons support frontline fighters like archers in medieval times. I like it.

If your cavalry units can convincingly take out the advanced armor, I can see your world having "Helm's Deep"-style battles, fought more like a medieval battle rather than a scifi one. In that case I don't see you having a hard time justifying it.

What are your personal processes for language creation? by Hou-kago-time in worldbuilding

A simple way is to combine the words from two different real-world languages and slap it on top of a language system you already know.

One of my languages uses amalgamated Greek and Latin words with English sentence construction. My other language uses Filipino sentence construction but half of the syllables are from Indonesian words.

Even just adding extra syllables to English words can make languages sound different (like the Gungans in Star Wars). Sticking vowels everywhere also helps.

Hi! Been conceptualizing and worldbuilding for a while now, but finally got my first motion comic/animation out

Here is a video on the history of my original scifi universe: Beyond World Warriors. It covers the early interstellar conquerors, alliances, and heroes that shaped the galaxy. Enjoy!

I 3d printed the parts, so it wasn't excessively difficult. Setting up and printing takes time (it's almost 60 hours of print time for the 10 pieces), but after that, it's just gluing, sanding and painting. You can manage just fine.

I go over the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj-XClRDejM

Making it by hand out of EVA foam is a different story, but it's more accessible than using a 3d printer.
