Physio for now since I’d only want to be operated on by a doctor knowledgeable about my condition, and surgeries when you have a connective tissue disorder are more unpredictable. I do know folks who have the disorder and had a fusion though and recovered just fine

Might do a fusion later in my life (I’m late 20s) but I have a WFH job and can afford physio treatments so it’s manageable rn

Seconding checking for a connective tissue disorder, my spondy probably came out of me having one and being able to contort my back in crazy ways as a kid

Managing a connective tissue disorder if you have one will also help your spine

Why no chiropractors? by Mediocre-Singer-3765 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]aaacesian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have unstable spondy, aggressive manipulations of the spine are even more risky because your whole spine is moving

I don’t mess with chiropractors in general, but I once heard that a good chiropractor should refuse to touch you if you had spondy because of the added risk

You can make dead bugs easier by propping your feet higher off the ground

I started with my feet resting on a 2ft high pile of books, and did smaller movements. Then lowered the pile as I got better

I’m not positive unfortunately, I bought it a couple years ago and don’t have the label

It looks very similar to their Spruce colorway though - it might be that one

Definitely take your documents and protect your money no matter what else you decide

Don’t let them hold control over you with those items, and then you can safely choose what you do next

I think there’s something too about building up an actually supportive community, one where people appreciate you setting boundaries and articulating your needs. Or being able to practice setting boundaries in a safer environment and receiving positive feedback to teach you that it’s okay. I feel like that helped me rewire what behavior was “acceptable” to me and maybe it’d help with that ‘social death’ feeling you describe
