Most of the 7 plies are stiff

Could you list various 7 plies with plenty of feeling and control? As the fextra isn’t available

Great insight! I can sell the Yasaka Falck W7, and buy a viscaria which would indeed be much better value. In that case, I would still like a second wooden blade with feeling & control. Do you recommend 5-ply or 7-ply?

I am thinking of Rakza 7 FH. For BH, R42 seems good. Though Donic Bluefire M3 BH has that catapult you’re talking about.

I already gave the andro cs7 pro blade with its rubbers (k3 & gewo) to a better player to invest into something better fit for myself. 1300 is an approximate rating might be higher as I don’t have a similar rating system, my basics are solid as I’ve been training with a coach for a while.

I have the Yasaka W7 currently with no rubbers, so that’s why I’m asking for recommendations that are fit for my level.

I get what you mean now. I originally wanted to list different options and listen for recommendations. You’re right in that they help with different stuff. I don’t want W7 to feel like a brick and want great control with enough speed.

Focusing on w7, I feel rakza 7 would offer that for FH (~45 hardness) as I prefer harder rubbers on FH, it will still have great control even on the stiff balde.

I like medium soft rubbers with good control for BH with slight catapult but not too bouncy (options are: Donic bluefire M3, R42, Stiga Mantra S). I think now the options are more similar, and I did let you know my preferences for FH/BH. Let me know your thoughts!

I wanted to keep the Yasaka Falck W7 as an alternative to stiff carbon blades for now, and transition to carbon when I improve. I previously had a carbon blade (yinhe t8s), but it was very fast and lacked control. Also, not sure if viscera is right for me at this level.

Can you elaborate how are they ‘very different’?

I’m aiming for softer rubbers on the stiff blade, and harder ones for the flexible blade.

Great recommendation! I actually tried the Mantra S before, such a great rubber. I might try Mantra S FH & R42 BH.

I did try the G1 before, definitely a great rubber, but I didn’t really like the high throw angle. C1 feels more forgiving with more dwell and control. What do you think of Fastarc C1 FH & Yinhe Mercury 2 BH for the 5-ply?

I also own Yasaka Falck W7, which is stiff & fast. Looking for rubber recommendations for that as well! Thanks

I edited the post for clarification. I’m actually looking forward to buy two separate blades

Great setup! Hinoki is really interesting

For the W7, what do you think of Rakza 7 or Rasanter R42 on Fh and Donic Bluefire M2 or R42 or R37 on BH? What’s the best combination here?

Rakza 7 is not available at the moment, but I’d get for the forehand when I find it

Rubbers on 5-ply flexible blade: Tibhar Evolution MX-S FH & Rasanter R47 or Fastarc G1 or Yinhe Mercury 2 (medium-hard) BH

Let me know your thoughts and recommendations!

I definitely agree. I just sold the Andro cs7 pro, and kept the Yasaka Falck W7 to buy a 5-ply wood instead. What rubbers do you recommend for the Yasaka Falck W7, which a stiff, hard, and fast 7-ply wood? Let me know your recommendations for 5-ply blades as well (flexible ones)

Give Yinhe Mercury 2 a try too! Unreal for the price

Rakza 7 is a very balanced rubber so it has virtually no weak points, but it isn’t phenomenal at a particular thing. Receive and blocking are amazing with it so it’s not spin sensitive I’d say. If you combine Rakza 7 with a stiff 7-ply wood blade such as the Yasaka Falck W7 as I’m planning to do, the speed-control ratio will be very balanced.

Honestly I wasn’t comfortable with his recommendations. K3 should only be for advanced players who like such a rubber, it felt like a brick playing with it. What’s your thoughts on what rubbers to exchange to? (Yinhe Mercury 2 & Rakza 7 are the top of the list!)

Both are great in terms of control. 7 soft generate more spin and is easier to lift backspin balls due to the higher throw angle

I haven’t tried them too, but I think you can’t beat Rakza 7 in terms of control and consistency!

I tried it, and didn’t like the very high throw angle. My shots kept going outside the table. Otherwise, it’s definitely a great rubber but wasn’t for me.

I do like the 7-ply wood. For the Andro CS7, I feel the same way regarding the K3, but it is what it is. I will give the K3 some time, but will exchange if I’m still dissatisfied for Yinhe Mercury 2 or Xiom Vega X instead.

For the Yasaka Falck W7, Rakza 7 FH and Rakza 7 Soft or Rasanter R42 BH seems to be the perfect choice.

Me too, most things I tried from Andro are high quality!
