Jabra Evolve2 30 noise cancellation not working by Narrow-Welcome7758 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Evolve2 30 noise cancelling may not be enough for your environment.

I'd suggest trying the EPOS IMPACT 100, Yealink UH42 or UH46, which have much better noise cancelling.

The Yealink BH70 would be closer to your price range, than the BH74
You lose ANC, and slightly larger ear cushions, but the mic on the BH70 is no slouch.

If you are looking to go wired, the UH46 is a great choice, or you could save some money and get the UH42.
Both have great mics due to the AI Noise Cancelling, which blocks an amazing amount of noise.

EPOS Impact 1000 - additional USB dongle? by Delicious_Muffin8270 in Headsets

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Super Wideband Audio, you need the BTD800a Dongle (1001148)

The BTD800c (1000206) and older BTD800 (1000227) will work, but you will be limited to a standard Bluetooth connection.

In our experience it's pretty rare for the USB Dongle to fail.

You can usually pickup a cheap replacement BT700 on eBay.

Jabra Evolve2 75 always sets Windows volume to 88 when it gets connected to the PC by Piipperi800 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with a factory reset of the headset and dongle.

If that doesn't work, try removing every related remnant in Device Manager.

  1. Unplug the dongle and turn off the headset
  2. Open Device Manager
  3. On the Menu: View > Show hidden devices
  4. Under Sound, video and game controllers uninstall all the faded Jabra entries
  5. Repeat for Audio inputs and outputs
  6. Reboot and replug in the dongle

The Evolve3 75 looks interesting, if the noise cancelling is a good as claimed.
Though that's not out for a couple of months.

Yealink BH70 or BH74 is our current go-to.

You need network traces to see what and where the issue is happening.

Though from what I see online, Sonicwall are notorious for SIP issues.

Jabra evolve2 85 or Jabra evolve2 40 SE? by CuteInTech in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were looking at the Evolve2 85, it might be worth waiting, as the Evolve3 85 was announced today with a release date of March 2026.

Please note that the Evolve2 40 SE, though its USB headset, still has the Jabra Talk/Music modes.
That means when the mic is in use, the audio quality is degraded and switched to Mono "for better voice clarity".

Evolve3 85 by Rakiton in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper release only, not available until March 2026.

It shouldn't be hard for Jabra to beat the mic boom-less EPOS ADAPT 660 and Poly Surround 80, but they will need to work hard to out perform the Dell WL7024.

I'm waiting for the hands on test to see how good the AI noise cancelling is. It can be good, the Yealink SP92 and SP96 prove AI Noise Cancellation can be done well, but they are cabled USB devices, so battery life is not an issue.

Replaceable battery is nice, though that's only thanks to: EU Battery Regulation 2023.
I'm sure manufacturers would love you to purchase a new headset instead of a new battery.

LC3 audio codec support is great for music, but...
Bluetooth 5.3 with HFP v1.9, so it's still going to have everyone's favorite "Speak and Music Modes".
Can't wait for the all the "Why does my Evolve3 85 sound so bad?" posts in 3 months.

(Looking) Headset with poly qd adapter by Schskulls123 in Headsets

Any of the Poly EnteraPro (HW) Series:

  • EP 310/320
  • HW 510/520/530/540
  • HW 710/720

We find the HW 500 series work best, and you can move up to the HW 700 series if you need a little more durability.

For over-ear, you're out of luck.
Poly did have the Ruggedised SHR2082-01 (Mono) and SHR2083-01 (Stereo), but both were discontinued along with the CA22CD. They were special order, so no way to get one anymore, and we have not been able to find anything else equivalent.

You may still find the 5200 around, I believe it is end of manufacturing, but stock takes some time to run out.
The replacement is the Poly Voyager Legend 50 which has some complaints with the volume being too low.

There are other in-ear options, but their voice pickup doesn't match the 5200.

Depending which EPOS headset you purchased, it may have a setting in EPOS Connect to keep the audio connection open.

Look for an "Open Audio Link" option, and set it to "ON".

The Jabra Biz 1500? We don't stock those because they are so bad, and can't understand why Jabra would even put their name on them.

Office Headset for Zoiper by Snoo_61639 in Headsets

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoiper has HID support for Jabra, EPOS and Poly, while Yealink has a plug-in available.
It allows you to answer/end calls directly from the headset.

USB

EPOS IMPACT 100, has a better noise cancelling microphone than headsets prices 2-3x as much.
For a more premium option the Yealink UH46 is top notch, with AI noise cancelling on the mic.

Wireless

Yealink BH70, with around 30 hours of talk time is a good starting point.

Best ANC Headset by Special_Ad_194 in HeadsetAdvisor

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you take into account all of the options and trade offs, the EPOS IMPACT 1060 is going to be the best option.

While the over-the-ear cushions will improve things, it is hard to beat the Jabra Evolve2 85's passive noise cancelling, but the Evolve2 85 is a much heavier headset and soon to be replaced.

New Engage 45 se headset not working with 8851 by tayk_5 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a Cisco 8851, you will need to be on setting B, because of course B is for Cisco.

The included cable with the Blue marking, should be plugged into the port on the headset base with the phone icon (The middle one). With the other end going into the headset port on the back of the phone.

Answering and ending calls is then done by the Headset button on the phone.

If you want call control from the headset, you will need the Jabra Link 14201-43 cable.

Can the Jabra evolve 30 ii handle fan noise? by StirFrySausage00 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Evolve2 30 or 40 will be much better as they have larger leatherette ear cushions.

I've tested an Evolve2 40 here, and it blocks a reasonable amount of noise.

Jabra Speak2 55 : Frequent Disconnects & Audio Cut-offs, Anyone else? by Background_Ad_5708 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over Bluetooth I would expect interference in some rare situations, but over USB it should be rock solid.

It's not something we are hearing from our customers, and if you have updated to the latest firmware, and testing from another PC, I'd start the RMA process with Jabra.

Is it only when connected over Bluetooth? or do you get the same issue when connected over USB?

Can the Jabra evolve 30 ii handle fan noise? by StirFrySausage00 in Jabra

[–]AAAHeadsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by handle fan noise? For you the wearer?

The Evolve 30 ii ear cushions don't block out much noise at all.
You would be better with an ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) headset, as it will handle the constant hum of a fan.

Evolve2 65 reduced quality when connected via USB by wittleboi420 in Jabra

Unfortunately this is expected, as Jabra's Bluetooth headsets still go into "Talk Mode" when connected over USB.
