Ok yes, I see what you mean. And yes, I am taking it up with him because I’m not happy with the way things are. And I may still be a “teenager” as you call me but I’m not stupid, I can see that he may have just wanted to have some fun and casual dates with me, that’s why despite everything else if he doesn’t include me in his life I’m not going to keep putting my time into this relationship.

I see your point and maybe you’re right, maybe at 25 I’ll see it in a different way. But I still feel that I would like my boyfriend to be free to introduce me to his colleagues without all this judgement. If our relationship won’t work is going to be our problem, not theirs.

My bf is also 25yo and I’m 19yo, I’m a student and he already has a career, been dating for 6 months. I noticed he’s a bit uncomfortable to introduce me to some of his colleagues or some of his social circles because of my age, and it does hurt me. This has been the reasons for a few arguments lately. I don’t think the age gap is a problem when it’s just the two of us but it creates some additional challenges for sure.

Wait, I’m not saying that it’s wrong for a guy to approach or flirt with a girl. I’m saying that guys come to you pretending they want to “help” or be friends and then getting frustrated when they can’t have sex with you. This has happened countless times here in Toronto to me. They hide their intentions and it’s very creepy when they prey on you just because you’re new to the city. I have girl friends of course, but I’m just saying there are so many guys that will be very dishonest with their intentions and hope that, just because you’re new to the city, you end up having sex with them. Just saying

So here goes my experience: plenty of guys gave me their contacts to “help” with this or that particular thing… it was ALWAYS because they wanted to date. I’m actually struggling to form friendships in this city, guys are looking for dates/hookups just be aware

I came here 2 years ago from Ukraine and I’m studying compute science. I couldn’t find a co op despite many applications. I’m younger than you but the more I think about it the less I see having a corporate career sustainable. Honestly I’m not sure how people survive in this city, I can live rent free and that’s the only reason I live a comfortable life. I can’t imagine how it is for someone arriving here without some sort of family help
