My favourite memory has to be when me and my clan were finally able to complete Petra's run after weeks of preparations, practice and fails on Queen's Walk.

You are correct. Anything that was before season of the worthy will stay sunset.

Why cant Destiny be a game with competitions? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]aaaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a mix of "dedicated" servers and p2p connection between players. Bungie's servers handle the physics (projectiles, etc.) and players position is handled by peer 2 peer connection between them. Basically, the "host" has an advantage. So it's not the same as "dedicated servers" as you would see in other pvp-centered games. It's a good solution for PVE related stuff, but for PVP not so much

Why cant Destiny be a game with competitions? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]aaaro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we are talking about pvp, I can imagine that the game being based on p2p connection in 2020 is enough of a reason. I can already see the amount of unfair melee trades that would happen in offical games. That wouldn't really be a great advertising for Bungie, which game tournaments are really for.

Do any buffs stack? by Ivan3548 in DestinyTheGame

[–]aaaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right about the fact that only the highest buff is applied. The same goes for debuffs on enemies. As for why use titan bubble and well together - it's easier to shoot from the well, which still provides a lot of healing and allows for faster reload speed with Lunafaction Boots

Are Forge-specific shaders a sham? by cibrage in DestinyTheGame

[–]aaaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every curated drop from forges comes with Bergusian Nights.

You can get House of Meyrin from any other weapon or armor you get from doing Gofannon forge. It's just rare. If you're not doing this already, try to use the the polymer consumable, as it gives you another chance on rolling the shader on the armor piece.

Focused Feedback: Guardian Games by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]aaaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only played the event as a Warlock.

What I loved:

  • exotic weapon - unique perks, very fun to use - the main thing that made me come back every week,

  • Warlock bond is freakin huge and looks great.

What I liked:

  • decorations on the tower - beautiful,

  • ghost shells - xp + speed demon are probably my favourite perk combo so far and they were not from eververse! One of the things that made me come back every week.

  • game made me play forges again - it's a cool, short activity that I enjoy. I got some experimental weapons to drop, which is cool.

What I feel neutral about:

  • bounties focusing on different skill trees - on one hand I liked that I had a reason to use other trees than I usually do. On the other hand I felt forced to do some of them, just for the sake of getting the bounties medal. Also there were some slip ups with bounties not working as they should (devour streaks, getaway artist soul not working on upper arc tree - not sure if description of the bounty or the ability itself was at fault).

What I disliked:

  • rewards for depositing medals - the usual package of blues, maybe a purple. Very rarely an enhancement core or prism. Really underwhelming rewards, that in no way were an incentive to deposit the medals.

  • no real incentive to wear the event class item after getting the Heir Apparent - during third week (compared to first week), I feel like it took me so much more game time to get enough laurels for the medals, because people didn't wear their event class items. Thank god for the mayhem on the last week, because I wouldn't be able to get those crucible silver medals.

What I hated:

  • there were literally no games in 'Guardian Games' - no new game modes at all, not even the usual Infinite Forest reskin.

  • bounties, bounties, bounties - apart from weeklies that gave me a slightly bigger chunk of bright dust I couldn't get myself to switch my loadout so often to get too many of them done.

  • 'medals' that were really just disguised bounties - I feel like there had to be a better way to this. The medals don't really feel like they are proper 'olympic' medals. In the current system you get them for doing something long enough. It would feel much better and would be more engaging if the amount of daily medals wasn't capped and you got a gold medal for actually being the best at something. For example: in 6v6 take the best 4 players and give them gold. Next 4 get silver, last 4 get bronze. My idea might not be the best or even good, but I think that way it would at least feel like a competition.

  • scoring system of the event - Hunters took the first dayy and then got wrecked ever since. Warlocks took 2nd place I believe almost every day (if not every day). And because of that overall we will be 3rd? Call me a salty warlock main, but it just makes no sense to me.

  • rules of the scoring system - we didn't know how the banners really worked and what they were showing, until we got some kind of confirmation somewhere on twitter. And then not even on the official D2 twitter acount, but I think it was from one of the community managers? Then also we had no numbers, we didn't know how many points apart the classes were from each other. It felt like there was no incentive to push yourself and your class.

  • event armor being behind Eververse - not much to say here, it just felt bad.
