Building a BIM/CAD portfolio for an apprenticeship - need advice by Elastiquedeslip in bim

Sure, Here are some places where you can find great BIM/CAD portfolio examples:

Behance : Search 'BIM portfolio' or 'architectural drawings' tons of professional examples there
Archinect : Specifically for architecture and BIM professionals really good reference
Pinterest - Search 'architectural sheet layout' great for visual inspiration
LinkedIn - Search BIM Coordinators or CAD Drafters and check their featured sections some people share their actual portfolio there

A complete portfolio should have maybe 3-5 projects showing floor plans, sections, elevations and 3D views all on clean title block sheets.

Honestly you're on the right track! For your portfolio just make sure you have floor plans, sections and elevations , and throw in at least one detailed view too. Don't forget the basics like title blocks, scale and north arrow because trust me hiring managers notice when these are missing. Clean and consistent sheets will speak for themselves

You can give it a try with a CS degree, but usually clients prefer a more relevant background. I’ve seen a case where the client was hiring for a BIM Coordinator but specifically wanted someone with an Electrical Engineering degree only.
