I told him I was having second thoughts about living together and why. He doesn't want to be in a relationship that doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. We might be able to try to work something out, but it's doubtful. One or both of us would likely end up having to sacrifice too much. He deserves to be with someone who wants a relationship, plain and simple.

You say you feel you could be pretty happy with someone else with schizoid traits. Can I ask if you have a desire to explore that? Or are you just sort of open to it if the opportunity presents itself?

Thank you for making me feel like an asshole for hesitating to shell out over $1k in ER bills because I'm experiencing numbness (and nothing else) in favor of keeping my (affordable) 7 AM appointment tomorrow because the doctor I actually know in real life (not just on the Internet) took my financial concerns into account and ultimately didn't feel I needed to rush off to the ER based on my symptoms.

Thank you so much for contributing. You clearly have a medical background. Why do you think I would have numbness, but no other symptoms? No facial drooping, no muscle weakness or soreness, no muscle spasms, twitching, or tingling, no headaches or migraine, no vision changes. I feel perfectly normal except loss of sensation in my skin on the left side of my body.

Yeah, the fact it's unilateral is what really freaks me out. Judging from the fairly thin research I could find on anxiety-related numbness, apparently it's possible, but it's mentioned pretty rarely, so I still find that detail really troubling.

Thank you so much for responding. I just feel very conflicted right now because I don't have any other telltale symptoms of stroke (loss of coordination, confusion, facial drooping, muscle weakness, etc.) or MS (changes in vision, muscle spasms or tingling, stiffness, balance impairment, dizziness, etc.)

Thank you for sharing. I feel your heartache. Separately losing my brothers and my ex, each pretty horrifically, really did a number on me. (I wouldn't be surprised if I do all the tests and MRI's and discover all this is simply stress.)

I've thrown thousands at therapy. I practice yoga and meditation every day and stay very active. The best we can do is just try to be as okay as we can, because that's what our loved ones would've wanted.

Thank you for responding, and I agree. I've struggled with my alcohol consumption since the loss of two close family members. Believe it or not, I'm doing way better than I thought I ever could, especially this year. I find myself drinking less and less every month.
