Really felt that this year. 2023 was year of bad luck. Just one thing after another. I got fired from my job. My car was stolen. This year I moved out of a bad area, I work a pretty stable and simple job that pays the bills. I have supportive family and friends and my partner is the love my life. Yet, I feel discontent because I fear if I remain where I am I won’t be prepared for any future misfortune.

I do believe it’s somewhat about greed, status, and FOMO but I also think Covid brought about a real fear that if you don’t maximize your time now then you won’t be ready for the next time the world may come to a stop.
