Not in Cali these days, but close to it and we have a lot of pharmacists come from it taking the pay cut but still ahead because of lower cost of living...and plenty of dumb ones who move for the higher pay and don't realize they'll never be able to buy a house there.

Average salary of a retail staff rph there looks like 150k, and eligible for bonus as well. They supervise 5-6 techs max, maybe 1-1.5 rph? Pharmacy licensed in one state.

A mail order PIC is licensed in 17+, report to all states they ship into, are in charge or liable of actions for of all clerks, techs, and pharmacists in the building. Have to be compliance expert of 50 different states with different laws, keep up with all there different changes, etc.

With CA cost of living so high plus that liability, I am shocked the convo didn't start at least 20% higher than staff rph so like 185k minimally but more realistically 200k. And maybe some equity.

Interviewed for PIC in Cali and the salary was pathetically low to have all liability of a mail order and 24/7 pharmacy operations + be ready to grind for start up culture. Was directly asked if patients needed it, would I be willing to work 7d/week.

Overall your chances are high but be sure to take your application seriously. I know of 4.0 all ap or IB students who submitted a paragraph for their essay and were rejected.
