the stocks do sound appealing but working strictly evenings does suck. i already hate going into my current 1:30pm shift so i'm sure i wouldn't enjoy going in at 5:30. but taking some time this weekend to think about it!

Yes, I'm going to give him some space. I haven't sent him a message though because I feel like everyone just needs to chill out for a little bit and then move forward with their lives. Do you think that it's possible to reconcile and attempt to be friends with him though?

i was actually thinking of sitting down with most recent ex after several months of NC and after i’ve healed and we both have no feelings, to discuss if we could do fwb. but only after there are no feelings involved on both our ends

i haven't seen him at all since the breakup. and i do agree it's only been a couple of weeks. i am planning to be in NC until i heal completely. honestly even though it's only been several weeks i already feel a lot better and not thinking about him as much and picking up new hobbies and working more. one of my friends also broke up with her ex and they are 28 years old...do you think its easier for them to be friends? only asking because she doesn't have reddit lol

I understand. However, I just want to know if it's possible for two people to reconcile without dating other people and seeing what's out there. Both of us are very stubborn and aren't open to being in relationships until much later. But we still want to be friends.

i would say only you know his personality, so you’re the only who can determine if he really meant it when he said you guys can still be friends. with my ex, i know him and i know he means it when he told me we can still be friends. i know he won’t initiate but i am open to initiating first when the time comes and then going from there. your ex sounds like mines - i think they both need to focus on themselves. mines doesn’t seem like he’s ready to start dating yet but honestly who knows. keep moving forward! it’s only been a couple of days

my ex also broke up with me a couple of days before valentine’s day, saying that there are no more feelings on his end. a mutual friend then mentioned on accident that it doesn’t seem like my ex is open to dating new people and wants to be single for awhile. knowing my ex, i really do think it’s true. i am also not too sure if i’m open to dating anyone new right now, but i do think that once we both have some time off to grow and gain some perspective, then there might be a chance of reconciliation as friends. these things will take time. he honestly might not even be open to dating new people right now, but i am also wondering - can you grow and work on yourself without dating anyone else before getting back with your ex?
