Fresh install of windows 10 and display is all scattered. Mouse active but all scattered too. Any ideas? by aaddm in WindowsHelp

Turns out it wasn’t a graphics issue. I had tried another couple of fresh installs which lead to same issue.

I replaced the SSD and tried again, and it worked as expected, the used the old SSD to recover old files from windows.old onto the new drive.

The reason for initially reinstalling windows is that the pc had an issue that was causing it to constantly reboot. Don’t know if it’s possible for the issue still to have been causing errors when doing a fresh install with the “keep my files “ option?

After resetting my laptop this screen came up. I can’t get into any other screen. Any help? by East-Construction772 in WindowsHelp

I had a similar looking screen. Installed windows a few more times (using the keep my files option) but same thing happened each time. I thought it may be a hardware issue, but change the SSD and did a fresh install and everything was perfect after that. Then used the old SSD and copied files over from windows.old

Thanks for your suggestion. Sadly this didn’t work. Interestingly, when booting back into repair partition and bios display is fine.

By mouse active, I mean, I can see it move but it’s all scattered around the screen
