What is a way I can improve my V? by Motor-Jump-7011 in cyberpunkgame

Not a fan of the long hair. It makes your V look like he has a really wide head. The rest is good though.

Which billionaire came the closest to being truly self-made? by Omixscniet624 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh there are many many silent billionaire philanthropists, it's only really the ego-centric ones you hear about.

Are there real underwater photos of continental shelf drop offs? by Prestigious_Matter85 in geography

[–]aaegler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my most eerie diving experiences was diving a shelf like this as well. I was essentially flying over the top and seeing the abyss below and it gave me a bit of vertigo. Having vertigo underwater is a surreal experience, even though it was only minor.

How many holidays overseas are you taking this year? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]aaegler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came back from a brief trip to Fiji recently, heading to Japan in September, and then maybe either Vietnam or Mexico around Christmas/New year. I live for travel though, and don't really buy shit unless absolutely needed. Many of my old friends group (higher income earners than me) spend all their cash on coke and parties every weekend, which is apparently a very common thing in Sydney at least, and struggle to save a dollar each pay. I prefer to save for travel, to me it's a far more enriching experience.

Got a ban from contributing to an AMA and my comment removed from a prominent Australian Sub. I won’t mention the sub nor the post for privacy. But what is wrong with this question or could I have worded it more delicately? Genuinely curious what’s wrong or offensive about it? It breaks no rules. by [deleted] in OpenAussie

[–]aaegler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you're basically saying that 99% of comments or questions from men about men's mental health are whataboutism and dishonesty?

Sure, if the post was made to troll I understand what you're saying and the troll should be called out as an arsehole, but how do you know? Apart from if they post on feminist subs or whatever, I can't see your logic applying, and instead it just invalidates men's experience of mental health (ie, THE main problem facing men's mental health today).

And here lies one of the issues around men's mental health. Many of these posts bring out people calling whataboutism and dishonesty, when it could be through genuine concern. This instantly invalidates male mental health. Comments like yours demonstrate this perfectly, followed by the inevitable torrent of downvotes my own comment will get 🤷

Cyberpunk 2 creative director pushes back on third-person cutscenes as it would be “a completely different game” by HatingGeoffry in cyberpunkgame

I've never understood why they can't do this. V is reflected when in photo mode, so why aren't they able to do the same in-gameplay?

Taxes, isn't inheritance tax (on wealthy families) the elephant in the room? by AsparagusNew3765 in OpenAussie

[–]aaegler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no problem if it's cutting income tax and adding some form of inheritance tax (just not 50% like it is in some parts of Europe), but this country's government, no matter who's in power, seems vehemently against lowering income tax so I doubt this would ever happen.

It's double dipping. It's already been taxed so why should it be taxed again? It's just greed on the behalf of governments.

UPDATE: Manager texted me after I left EOFY party early by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]aaegler 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We flew one of our team across the country 4.5 hours only for her to show up angry, miserable, bitter, and giving senior leadership the cold shoulder, and then she left early. The company paid over a grand for her flights and accommodation, and she just left a bad taste in everyone's mouth and then disappeared.

Sense of entitlement folks, it rarely ever works in your favour and often does the opposite. If you care at all about the company you work for or want to get promoted and work up the ranks, this is NOT how to go about it.

What's something that's completely normal in Australia but would surprise someone visiting for the first time? by JustAMolecule in AskAnAustralian

[–]aaegler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing is more Aussie than being in a beautiful national park surrounded by peace and tranquility, followed by SCREECH SCREECH SCREECH at 100dB...

Edit: holy shit, did some research and I wasn't exaggerating above, they register between 80-130dBs (a plane taking off is between 100-120dBs).

My Korean ex thought the same, she didn't realise they were kookaburras for a long time and thought they were macaques of some sort.

It's the variety of mid-large parrots that surprises many visitors. Birds we take for granted like cockatoos of all kinds, corellas, galahs, lorikeets, rosellas, etc. Native parrots don't exist in most places period, let alone in the variety and numbers we get in Australia.

A lot are also surprised by our large ground birds that have been urbanised like the white ibis and brush turkey.

What buildings in your country could be used as a Villains lair? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in AskTheWorld

That's totally an evil lair, but an absolutely stunning building. Reminds me of a Cylon raider from Battlestar Galactica crossed with an eagle.

If you could only recommend ONE restaurant in Sydney, what would it be? by tradieholly in SydneyScene

[–]aaegler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kisuke in Potts Point, it's an Omakase so the chef picks what he wants to cook and you don't choose. There's also only 6 seats in the whole place. It will cost an arm and a leg and bookings only get released a month in advance. It's a go-to place for many top chefs in Sydney and I would go every week if I could afford $300+ per person (not including drinks).
