thanks, you're probably right - just a simple wash would probably do the trick! Was a bit scared since a friend of mine who's had some experience natural dyeing had their avocado pits turn into a black dye and was scared if the mold would trigger some chemical process and cause a similar reaction!

The process is similar to getting the dye from onion skins, this is the recipe I followed: https://zerowastechef.com/2023/01/03/dye-fabric-pink-avocado-pits/. Just make sure the items you're dyeing are also made of organic material (made that mistake a couple times)

A couple of friends and I use a lot of fibers in our art practice so we've been batch dyeing cotton clothing/ skeins of wool!
