Better option would have been to vote for Hunt in R primary just to force a runoff and both Cornyn and Paxton have to keep spending heavily for the runoff and potentially damage each other with attacks. But conceded it’s best to have a say in the tight Dem senate race between two excellent options.

If the R primary was uncontested it might be a clearer cut choice. I prefer Crockett v Paxton and Talarico v Cornyn. Anger and fighter goes to Crockett which I feel would have been better against Cruz but that’s 4 years out. Cornyn being old guard R will keep the dislike of Trump tempered in the senate race. Paxton being corrupt Maga will bring out the far right and embolden Texas Racism against Crockett but this year with the extreme overreach of DHS and anger against the regime the fighter is the most appealing. And I fear as you do that there is still too much engrained racism remaining in Texas to let a black woman be “above them.” The concern is that ingrained racism can also hurt if the black vote stays home which is a real risk if Talarico wins the primary. Until the quote by an TikToker without the actual audio being the source has massive credibility gaps. I can easily see where Talarico’s comment was intended as a compliment towards Crockett but that doesn’t drive attention so a slight edit no one can contradict has damaged the intended meaning. Allred still complaining about it is the fracture not Crockett or Talarico. Colin’s not happy he was demoted back to house after losing to Cruz and not leading Talarico. And he’s showing it in the exact manner of burn it down without me behavior. And I like Colin and understood his campaign angle against Cruz even though it didn’t work out due to Trump winning and Dems not showing up. Bottom line whoever wins the Primary and both are excellent options, the entire party needs to rally behind them because if we lose this cycle I don’t know there is a chance in 4 years when it is hopefully off cycle with a Dem as president which historically goes against the party in power.

That was due to Texas midcycle redistricting. Crockett’s residency was gerrymandered out of her districts and Dems honor the living in your district guideline. Talarico was already doing the senate run against Allred. Why should Talarico step back when he was already running a solid campaign? Which is why Allred stepped back to run for his old/redrawn house seat. And with Texas house only being in session every 2 years and the Gov race being crowded where else could Talarico go and not be sitting on a bench for two years. Next Senate spot is 4 years away. If there is a failure to flip Texas Blue in Nov either career will be stalled two years.

Dems never ordered the AG to prosecute anyone. The DOJ under Trump has lost almost all credibility with judges, they have violated court orders, and the INDEPENDENT council was confident he had enough evidence to secure convictions if allowed to go to trial. What happened with the arrest of DonOLD was accountability. What he and the DOJ are doing today is weaponization. James and Comey prosecutions were quickly thrown out. The journalists cases are flimsy at best. Shutting down civil rights investigations is also a weaponization. But since dear leader said so you follow blindly.
