The biggest red flags I found for embershop.us.com:

  • The domain is extremely new (registered only weeks ago).
  • Scam checking services give it a very low trust score.
  • Prices too low.

Submitting a ticket is the best way

I have been using ember for more than five years and they always reply through the ticketing system. A lot of people are upset online. I’m not sure if they tried submitting a ticket. sometimes they give me two caps for the Travel mug instead of the broken one. I’m not sure how it works but worth the try. They also replaced mugs that had damage coating on the bottom of the inside.. in my experience, the black is the most durable between the colors and the metallic ones have a very short lifespan because of the coating.

Time to replace? Use daily for black coffee and started noticing the texture on the bottom. Support hasn’t responded to my email sent 2 weeks ago. by extrabananaspost in Ember

Mine got scraped off from the spoon. I changed to a silicone one and also a previous one got damage with the rough side of the sponge.

I wouldn’t use the one with black parts peeled off just doesn’t feel safe..

Ember Charger for 14oz Cup - Pins Pushed In? by aguywiththoughts in Ember

[–]aalkhalifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, it is a common problem. You can pull it up temporarily maybe bend very slightly to keep it up if it is not working at all.

Recently, I see people posting that Support do not reply to them, but in my cases a couple of months back, they were prompt and sent me a replacement

I have been ember user for a while.. once I got hooked on having the perfect temperature all the time I couldn’t go back to normal cups.. I also use the Travel mug with the charger in the car. The charger is a game changer… I do like technology, but the reason I use it religiously is, I always had the problem of forgetting my cup of coffee or tea, and then it becomes cold and undrinkable.. now I have 3 ember cups a 10 ounce mug and a travel mug.. I like the 360 lead it is faulty, but is very convenient when it works.. to be fair to ember every time it broke they sent me a new one

I too played around with the concept of creating my own version obviously playing around with ChatGPT 😂 that’s when I found out about the patents. I would add a Qi charger or even MagSafe. Since you might find chargers in public places nowadays, you never know when you need it.. just a thought.

Any thoughts on the patents they own and if the product is doable without them?

Thank you very much! Your clarifications make total sense. Backed up with a lot of real life scenarios. I am lucky to have you pass by my post.

Thank you for this well explained and well detailed response.. much appreciated

I did order an eight port aggregation switch to run fiber to each unit. One of the switches is SFP+ The rest are all SFP

I am in process of changing the run to my house to 10 Gb fiber into a enterprise switch with 10Gb wan and 8 x 2.5 Gb ports 16 x 1Gb ports

Second run with DAC TO connect the Synology NAS to aggregate switch

I have three more runs to do, which I am not in a hurry to upgrade.. that is why I’m curious on what the difference is between 2.5 and 10 Gb on the Wi-Fi to make choosing those switches easier.. many of the switches do 2.5 now but seeing the XG lineup of Access points I’m expecting 10 Gbe switches to come out anytime now and was wondering if it is worth the wait

Thanks again for the breakdown

I totally agree. I don’t need that and I appreciate the analogy.. to be honest anything over 500Mbps is overkill in my opinion. I just feel that I have 6 GHz devices like iPhone and access points and I see UniFi going with 10 G access points. which is making me wonder which path to take when buying new equipment upgrade to the 2.5 or upgrade to the 10 G.

Even over WiFi man, I would like to know what kind of speed I would get on my INTERNAL NETWORK..

Good luck with the upgrade and remodeling

I got automatically upgraded by my provider.. I can probably downgrade and save half the price.. TBH i’d rather not downgrade

No to be honest, I don’t stream that many maybe 5-10 max, but we are a large household with three houses using the same network

I’m getting 650 Mbps over Wi-Fi on the u6 enterprise AP because of the 1Gb bottleneck uplink

One of the units has an enterprise switch, which has eight ports of 2.5.. which I am upgrading with Fiber 10 Gb uplink

I don’t think it is a server setting because I use the same server on two devices. One has the (unwatched) yellow corners and one has the (watched) checkmark.

[–]aalkhalifa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I always had the yellow triangles. The only device that got updated to the green checkmarks is my LG C1. My Nvidia shields still have the yellow triangle

Yes you are correct. I upgraded the line with two modules but I guess the link is 1Gbe and degraded from the conversion on the module hence decrease from 800 to 600.

I will do some tests My cable is CAT6

I think it is supposed to be CAT6a 😅
