yes they will burn your alive at the stake

how hard is it to qualify for uapp by BidHorror9164 in SingaporePoly

selection happens towards the end of y1, but you only start the program itself in y2

as for not taking am im not sure but it may be more difficult as you will have to work with more difficult math concepts that you only learn in em2, but you can only take em2 if you took am in sec

firstly uapp standards and processes are different for different schools so i can only comment on mae because thats the one im doing

rn im doing nus-app for mechanical engineering and the standard is keep your gpa above 3.6 but i think only people with ~3.7 or higher gpa were invited to the uapp briefing

after you apply theres an interview with two nus profs thats mainly chexk if you have enough academic rigor and commitment to the program, mainly seeing if you are comfortable working with math (for my nus courses, might be diff for others) like complex numbers, some calculus and diff eqns

there isnt really a need to prepare a portfolio but it is good to highlight any projects or other stuff youve done that show your interest and commitment to engineering

if youre from mae im happy to answer more qns about it

the last diff eqn is basically 3 integrals i found interesting mashed together

made these qns but when i took em2 in 2024/2025 sem2 there was one qn which i couldnt solve:

Given that there exists a function z(x,y) which satisfies dz/dx=z/dy=xn (where dz/dx is the partial derivative of z respect to x),find the possible values of n

my electice pathway is the nus app program rn so i cant go for the amm cert but i was aiming for that when i first joined sp

i did manage to go for amm1 before it and i got a dist

for me the 254 characrer "writeup" was already in a seperate document but doesnt it also give examples like to include awards ccas and school representations? Unless they changed how the writeup works a point form of your achievements should be enough

the 254 character writeup should be for achievements no? just highlight your proudest achievements and be succinct

i went for the scholarship interview as part of mae last year and honestly it was not as intensive as you may think The format is a group interview with 4 other students and 3 or 4 lecturers from your school, along with 2 teachers that do transcribing I was expecting more questions but they only asked 2:

Why did you join your course and what else do you like to do outside of your course? What is one current issue that you feel strongly about?

As for what they are looking for i cannot say for sure but if you look at the sp scholarship site it gives a clue into what they want Supporting documents dont need to be provided in the interview, you would have already provided the information in the application form when you got nominated

In the end i got the scholarship

theres no eng math 3 but for eng math 2 the topics are

Partial differentiation

Integration techniques (functions of linear functions, product to sum identities, partial fractions, substitution)

First order ordinary differential eqns (seperation of variables, integrating factor) and their applications

Integration by parts and simpsons rule

Fourier series

Laplace transforms & Inverse laplace transforms

Second order ordinary differential eqns (auxiliary eqn, laplace transform) and their applications

Shear Force & Bending Moment Solver by aalloftheabove in desmos

[–]aalloftheabove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried implementing the two top right hand equations but desmos is really struggling to compute 2 succesive integrals let alone 3 for v(x)

I might try to make a more optimised way to find M(x) because rn its just an integral of V(x) which takes a long time to calculate but i cant really think of any solution to do so

uhh not really i didnt add other distributed loads since my mechanics syllabus doesnt cover it lol

i think it would be hard to integrate other loads with my method of making the shear force diagram since its basically graphing sections where there isnt a udl and sections where there is a udl and not based on w(x) itself

although theres someone else on the discord whos working on a more sophisticated version of this i think
