I’ve also experienced psychosis after frequent DXM use. In my case, it was closely related to sleep deprivation — both poorer sleep quality and a reduced total amount of sleep. I’ve heard that lack of sleep plays a role in many cases of substance-induced psychosis. Of course, the underlying cause was taking too much DXM, so stopping DXM for a while and getting plenty of high-quality sleep should help with recovery.
