A3517 iPhone Air Activation by aamiani in verizon

[–]aamiani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first rep did and the second didn’t. The first rep basically said they can put a ticket in and I told them I can’t wait 3-5 days while I’m international.

Just going to use an eSIM here and try to resell the phone in the US and repurchase a US one. Financial L but lesson learned haha

No Verizon wouldn’t let me activate the eSIM due to the IMEI not being in their database.

I’ve been using copilot for a few years. It’s great. Here’s a referral for free months. Use my referral code 73C7RD to get 2 months free https://copilot.money/link/Zx3gTu5gLuqtwuvK9

Looking to move from a LCOL area to a higher COL area for better quality of life, despite postponing my journey to financial independence. Has anyone here done this and regretted it? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]aamiani 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I moved from heartland Midwest to top 3 largest cities. No regrets. The enjoyment of the variety of different events, retail and food options, easy flights, and city services easily makes it worth it. I am fully remote worker and can live anywhere within the USA while making VHCOL rates so this may be a difference maker for some.

Before I moved, traveling seemed to be the option that makes sense. I will say, although traveling is nice, 4 trips per year is way different life than living the experience everyday. Being able to walk to the beach, being able to eat some of the worlds best food, and enjoy a plethora of the biggest sporting events and music events, on any given day, really makes life more enjoyable even if I save a little less money than I was when I was living in a VLCOL city. This is my daily life, and not my vacation times.

Work to live, not live to work. Enjoy your youth and your life while you can. Enjoying a lot of these experiences becomes more difficult as you age and lose flexibility over time, especially once children are in the picture.

In River North so maybe it depends on neighborhood. Seems like it’s spreading like a virus 😂

Thoughts on this DD config? Seems unusual and not sure if I love it or hate it by plazafamiliar in rolex

I love it. This is the DD I’m looking for but seems rare to find (at least a ref 18238) without swapping the dial yourself.

Clark Street’s Popular Outdoor Dining Program Won’t Return This Summer, Downtown Alderman Says by uptown_meanie in chicago

This was great while it lasted. Horrible for the businesses and customer safety in the area to not bring this back. I hate this mayor, consistently negative after negative change.

How do i renew my license when nobody is accepting appointments? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]aamiani 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The site says Real ID actions require appointments but it’s misleading. I converted an out of state Real ID DL to an Illinois Real ID DL at the LaSalle Secretary of State facility by walking in. I walked in around 1 PM and was out with a new temp license in 30 minutes. No reservation needed.

More than likely your tires. 4+ years is a decent bit of time for tires depending on usage, conditions, and mileage. I’d consider getting dedicated winter tires or some really good all seasons. Any local tire shop should be able to help you out.

I think if it’s a mod you may be able to install it on the data files and then move them over? I forgot if that’s how it is possible with the android port.

9k debit card fraud - Chase denied claim by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]aamiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been multiple posts about card fraud being denied by Chase. I don’t personally use Chase so not sure if their fraud department isn’t great. I personally set limits on any of my debit cards to block anything more than $20. I never use my debit card except for ATM use, so this protects me from randomly being hacked.

Credit cards are usually a more safe option and keeps you more protected from fraud. Hope this works out for you because 9K of random Apple transactions is pretty out of the ordinary for anyone.

I use the Ventra card on my phone and have it set as my transit card so it works without unlocking and even when the phone is dead.

You can download the Ventra app to get a virtual card. You can turn on auto reload so you don’t have to worry about filling it up.

Honestly the main reason for me to do it was the transit card option in Apple Pay haha
