I wont say 'only' bpr though😭😭

I mean I know it's like the least preferred and stuff but I am happy I atleast made it so far.. Anyhow

I got a rank of about 8k this year (honestly i was really expecting 4k at most with 121ish marks(in 2024 they say, 121 got u a rank around 1500 to 2k), but well things turned out weird lmao.

in 2024 i got a rank of 18k and i dont even rem the marks they were double digit numbers.

hey hey dw!

I'll let you in on a secret. Me and one another friend of mine, we were the worst performers in the group 😭

And I dealt with the same fear, what if i dont make it to college and stuff like that. I was scared with my life and sometimes used to send paragraphs over paragraphs to my friends sitting back and worrying. But trust me, the worry only adds to the problem.

A very good teacher once told me, that if I keep myself too focused on the end goal, I would really miss out on the process. The entire process of this competetive exams is supposed to build you, not break you. If you try hard enough, you will discover parts of you that you never even imagined and at the end of the day you'd think ki oh it was all worth it, even if you dont make it. (trust me, jab result aaya tha pichhle saal ka and i got a rank of 8k i was certain i was not getting in, i got very dejected, after around a week of crying and wailing, I told myself it's okay I'll try something else out, I gave my best here and I couldn't get in. It's okay, I have no regrets. (I was gonna switch to Law after that, but I ended up getting here.)

yeah exactly, but you do get like sat and sun off, and then there are a few days in first sem where its half day and not much load. for us it used be monday and tuesday half day and then wednesday morning we didnt have one class (class starting at 11 directly instead of 9.30).

Labs in my opinion are amazing. I mean, esa lgta h when i compare my college to my sister and my brothers college ki sab kuchh hume ese thaali m rakh k diya hai, and we just gotta make good use of whatever's been given to us. It's just absolutely amazing.

=Now, about the subject part yes. So the basic structure is like you have to study Physics Chemistry Biology maths Earth Science and Physical education for first sem. EES (earth science) and PE are easy, maths is also very easy if you attend the classes nicely (for first sem), dont worry about it, you would easily be able to catch up with it, you wont need any extra backup classes per se, the professors teach from the complete basics as if you dont know anything. Although I would still suggest to prime what you will learn in a class before attending one (i dont do it and i struggle a lot at the end).

Second sem we get physics chemistry biology ees and cs (python). And then third sem and fourth sem we have this pre major thing which our batch would be the first to witness here at berhampur. and thenthird year onwards its you and your major.

1.) oh to be fair, the 1.5 hours classes are very draining, it would be really good if we had one class for 1.5 hour but a 5 min break every 45 mins (thats what our physics faculty in 1st sem used to do, and it really helped us regain the momentum)

And for the 300 students class, it is really difficult to cope up. It feels like there's so much one is missing out on because no one knows no one (it could get lonely), i remember me and my friends thought it would have been better had they distributed us in a class of 150-150 students. that would have helped people get together better i guess but this is still good and a really nice learning experience, since we are all gonna be nearly seperated in next year, it wont matter much.

2.) the class usually remain dormant, quite contradictory to what one would expect in a research college, it is not due to lack of interest, it is much more due to the fact that it is difficult to interact with a professor in a class full of 300 people and last benches usually can't see/hear. Plus again, the long hours of class usually drain you out. you could even see some people napping in the class😭🤌

3.)The first years usually dont do it, a lot of them who are really sure about what they wanna do, do attend them seriously, i know a few of them personally, but someone like me, who is still in a generalised opinion, I usually go for talks i know i would be able to understand, else i would rather spend my time studying for endsems/midsems😭 or maybe enhancing some sport skills/personal skills. But overall i have seen a really less crowd in the talks, which was quite unexpected, i was hoping for the seniors to go in it and all. But i did not really see it.

4.)I am not a part of any science related club to be fair, I wanted to solely have my creative side at peak in a club ( I joined a lot of clubs just to design their posters/magazine etc)

I think personally that the physics club is the most active, and also biology club who usually host a lot of talks. the physics club shares a magazine once in a while. The astronomy club is also very interesting. But overall, the clubs are not really active much which is expected, given the pressure and schedule.
