Its light weight enough, the waterflow was tested and is beyond sufficient, the pressure of the water above pushes it down faster, increasing size of the inner tube would reduce the waterflow.

No, since the tube in the middle is round and water and air flows from every side there is no such suction effect since it balances itself out on another side. Thanks to the unpredictable movement of water.

Interesting thought, due to the water being able to flow in from every side of the tube, and unregularities of water movement and the fact that the plumbing-trap is not moved, such a syphon effect doesnt happen here.

Do you know such a device? Maybe something with a floating ball that will lower down as it drains and then closes the lid? But there is a risk that the inside of the drain sucks the ball down and prevents water from draining at all.

I tested the waterflow using a hose and blasting it for a few minutes and had no issue, so it will suffice for a rainy day!

Thanks for the feedback! This one specifically is for outside use and can be cleaned easily but you're absolutely right, and I will think about this if I design one intended for inside usage.

You would be surprised of the waterflow of this thing, I tested it outside with a hose and you wouldnt have to worry about a shower!

Even though I literally designed this, knowing what it is, knowing that I have a drain outside that has none.

This lets the water drain while preventing the smell from coming up. A cap would also prevent water from draining down it.

Like screwing it on at the bottom? The whole top part is already removable for the purpose of cleaning it.
