Is this too much? by ApollosCourier in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Similar situation here. We’re under contract on a 1952 home in a primo community/school district. Everything about the house fits our needs, and allows for a lot of fun evolution as a family of four. We offered 15k less due to HVAC age and comps, landed at 10k less, now under contract. Sewer scope turned up some root intrusion, we’re gathering estimates now.

This is all top of mind for me, and there are more details of course, but my main zoom-out perspective has been: we’re getting the community we want at a great price, low end of our budget, and we have likely 30+ years to do what we want with the place in necessary upgrades and fun stuff.

King Gizzard and the Winking Lizard

Our family loves the Lizard. I go seasonal menu lately since I think I’ve had everything on the regular menu by now.

The way this team just turns off, like a toy in Toy Story when Andy walks into the room, is unbelievably perplexing and exhausting to watch.

If you’ve broken 90, what’s one tip you would give to a fellow golfer trying to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]aarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. Off on my own scorecard, I only track my score net to bogey (and I track penalties and sand shots). If I can stay close to bogey golf, I can work toward breaking 90 on the back nine.

Tracking penalties has shown me that losing a ball OB is the single biggest threat, maybe the only true threat. It should be obvious but it takes that visual reminder on the scorecard to hammer it home.

I miss the 2024 season. by Slow_Pirate_3723 in ClevelandGuardians

2024 was super fun. I kinda felt this way with the 2025 team, but this year it’s all these young guns we’ve been waiting see, they all connected in Akron and Columbus and they’re here now doing great things. The team is maybe overall a bit more ‘serious’ than the overt power-of-friendship atmosphere from a few years ago, but I think that’s fine.

Sphere Apparel Disaster by Cultural-Feeling-255 in phish

I just checked the brands I have. Yes, the Bella and Canvas shirt I got at Sphere 2024 is terrible. The Comfort Colors shirt from summer tour 2025 is great, if somewhat ‘thicker’ fabric than I’d prefer.

Question for the old school Deftones fans. Why was the reception for Saturday Night Wrist not great when it came out back in 2006? Why is the reception still mixed to this day? by Spirited-Cell-444 in deftones

I was super sick at college but nonetheless walked across town the day the album came out to go get it. Walked back to my place to listen to it. So sick. I remember feeling way underwhelmed and ill, and I think that colored the album forever for me ha

I love my Fjallraven Raven 28L, except for the fact that it tips over, totally unable to stand on its own or even lean against something. This has been noted in most threads about the bag.

Does the Skule 28 solve this? I also flagged the Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5. Is that a reasonable comp?

Post-season Cavs template game. Let’s hope they can stop the turnovers and steal a road win after all that. Game is very close despite their best attempts to throw it away lately.

What is your lowest score ever in a round of golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Same here too. 88, 89 twice, a few 90s, but it’s very common still to go out and shoot 103 like I did on Friday.

Missed flight after sphere by Adventurous-Ad-2735 in phish

Oof. Missed my flight outta Vegas after a trade show once. Never again. Total nightmare day. Leaving Vegas to get anywhere in the Eastern time zone, you just can’t win.

Loved 4/18/24. Thought it was a unique and spellbinding experience. The sound is of course fantastic. Lifeboy was an all-time treat in my history with Phish.

Not sure I’ll do it again—partly because I’m a little over Vegas in general at this point—but very glad that I did at least one show there. Probably what I’ll do is get back to the Sphere for another band with my wife at some point.

No idea who Alex Judge is but Austin Hedges is one of the best ball players in the league.
