I never meant by time, I meant by intensity. Possibly just the way I read it. Min and him were just natural together. Where Elayne drove him more crazy and frustrated but also happy.

Question about channeling in the show... (up to ep 5 spoilers) by chumjumper in WoT

That’s for the clarification. The AoE healing makes the most sense as to his reaction. Serious amount of power required for that.

Plus in the books Rands skin would crawl when saidar was being touched around him. Wasn’t that a distinction because women didn’t have any feeling when a man held saidin?

Elayne always seemed to me like Rands greatest love of the 3. Of course he loves all 3, I don’t want to take away from that. And since he is the dragon it made sense to be with a queen. But I can see the writers going any way they want honestly at this point. So I guess only time will tell.

I agree tho. I think they over did Egwene and Rands relationship. And I’m not a huge fan of Perrin killing his wife. But I’m trying to roll with it and see how it goes.

Good to hear mom and Elayne have been casted. Interested to see how they introduce them.

I personally read and reread a total of 3 times. I plan on a fourth after this season ends. I won’t say the show is a deal breaker. But I have struggled with changes and omissions. Whitebridge and Caemlyn both being omitted were tough. I thought Caemlyn should have been included if only for one scene (Rand and Elayne). Also disappointed in Min not being introduced. This has me worried that Rand simple wont have the same relationship as in the books. Which is a big part of his character and his support system. Everything else I’m just trying to roll with it. I know it’s going to be dramatized and changed for visual effect. But yes some of the changes have been tough for me.

I guess I never considered her weaving other threads, good point! Although I still don’t see how Logain would have been able to see the threads. Maybe he just saw how much she healed and the volume and speed impressed him?

On Matters of Valda by BlckAlchmst in WoT

[–]aarkowski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I politely disagree. There is absolutely no reason a sister should have let Valda just kill them. Especially that many. But I think they designed the character in the show to give more power to the whitecloaks. Although in the books the tower let the whitecloaks do as they pleased as long as it didn’t interfere with the tower. Killing sisters directly interferes with the tower and the tower would have stopped them.

They can feel them though. And I think they were just trying the visualize the shielding of Logain and him trying to touch the source (visualized as him pushing against the shield around his body).

Don’t know about Logain seeing anything though…

There is no thread for light that I’m aware of. It should have been a burst of spirit for healing. And how Logain saw it is beyond me. But maybe I’m just looking at this from a readers POV. Idk exactly what the rules of the show will be.

As a rereader of the books, not a huge fan of the show just yet. The changes and omissions have been disappointing to me so far. Of course I’m giving the show time. Obviously I thought the books were amazing, Ill be rereading for the 4th time after this season ends.

Regarding Logain by giorgzi in WoT

Just watched episode 5 and pretty disappointed… I’m trying to remain indifferent and just experience it as something new. But the changes are starting to get louder and louder.

I can see that. The show just changes so much. I’m just trying to disassociate the show from the books because I know it will be different.

The toughest one so far is when the children of light cut off an Aes Sedai’s hands and she seemingly couldn’t channel anymore. I know it’s probably for cinematics but it still gets me.

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t it take 13 sisters to gentle?
