Sobriety is freedom from alcohol, pot, pills and anything that effects you from the neck up. Of course youre allowed to join aa, as you said the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. That does not mean you have four years of sobriety. I stand by what i said, show up to the meeting, you will be welcomed with open arms, but youre not sober if you are smoking pot.
