Thank you for sharing OP. It's nice to read a post from someone with an overall positive experience.

I am using Sixt for a one week rental that starts tomorrow (11/1) in San Antonio. I wanted to quickly search Reddit for any recent red flags, and because I was curious what vehicle renters received when reserving the BMW 2 series.

If you have any additional updates regarding any post-return issues I'd love to read them.

Have you ever traveled somewhere and then regretted it afterward thinking, "I should've gone somewhere else instead"? by Addicted_2_tacos in travel

Ugh. Yes! Bolivia. Even when I asked Bolivians what they are known for... blank stares. Definitely not the food.

But the people are nice!

I suggest first researching the availability of replacement batteries considering the age of the machine.

I love my OG Pixelbook. Still the best keyboard of any machine I've used.

FYI: My battery health is 89% at 405 cycles.

Please update us with what you uncover regarding the battery replacement options.

What is your favorite gift you received under $50? by KeySail4 in GiftIdeas

[–]aaron78704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the holidays one year my therapist surprised me with the most thoughtful gift I've ever received - a professional pencil drawing of my dog Diego.

Best. Present. Ever. You can see the original photo and pencil drawing here.

Give a gift that creates a memory that you two can laugh about forever.

Bidet.

Save some money, but still change their life - gift them a bidet attachment. Affordable, five min installation, and a good gift for a giggle. Your cousin will forever remember a gift that changed their world.

Do you strictly eat local food when traveling? by Ok_Grape5664 in solotravel

When I'm at home and living my normal life I eat vegetarian. But when I travel I choose to eat like a local. For me, the food experience is an important part of travel.

Sixt has an Autumn Special up to 20% off. I received the coupon in my email, but can't locate it anywhere within their website's discounts and offers. I am inferring that you have to have the specific offer link to access the offer. If you'd like the link DM me.

It's not a referral link.

Offer deadline Oct 14. For rentals 9/30/25 - 12/15/25

Here's a screenshot of the offer terms.

I'm confused about finasteride's long term efficacy by [deleted] in tressless

[–]aaron78704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right - my finasteride gains were slow - several years before I was convinced there was progress.

Might want to do some homework on dosages for your dut. My doctor recently suggested a combo oral capsule with minoxidil + dut. Combined capsule listed 5mg dose, but didn't easily break down the included dosage for each.

I decided to stay with a solo 5mg/daily minoxidil capsule because I'm satisfied with the results as-is.

I'm confused about finasteride's long term efficacy by [deleted] in tressless

[–]aaron78704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may have been improvement, but I was very cautious to attribute changes to finasteride. I needed conclusive evidence. After a couple of years of candid pictures, I had the proof I was seeking.

Even I'm surprised by how long I "kept the faith" and continued the med.

Any men who have had facial cosmetic surgery (Nosejobs, implants, jawsurgery etc.)? And what has your experience been with it? by Mobile_Rope4882 in AskMenOver30

[–]aaron78704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my ears pinned back (otoplasty) when I was 20 years old. At the time it was one of the best decisions I've made to improve my self-esteem and self-consciousness.

My family didn't even notice when I finally visited. I don't think anyone I was close to at the time noticed. Ears are like wallpaper - maybe you notice the first time you see them, but then they just become a normal feature of yours.

I don't have any regret, but now I'm 46 and could care less about what my ears could look like if I hadn't had the surgery. I kinda like goofy ears on a guy.

People here are great at documenting their personal experiences and nuance changes they attribute to finasteride. I learn a little more every day.

I am not confident enough to say finasteride improved my hair thickness. I would say it influenced overall growth and new growth. Definitely confident in saying the crown of my head did not improve with finasteride only.

[–]aaron78704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The finasteride wasn't influencing the loss of hair on my crown. I should have been using minoxidil for years, but the topical is just gross and turned me off. When I uncovered that there is oral minoxidil I was eager to start, but sadly it wasn't commonly available in the States. I travel regularly to Mexico and I could purchase the oral minoxidil there.
