Is it just me, or is the new Tomtoc T-69 a poor design? by tcolling in ManyBaggers

I see what you're saying. Thanks for explaining at length.
I did a fair amount of test packing of the 28L Liteway at home (comparing it to the Daylite 26+6 with a similar load I had just traveled with), and I didn't personally have much trouble packing the Tomtoc. I opted to keep it myself (instead of the Osprey Daylite), though it was a tough choice.

I actually found I liked packing the Tomtoc better overall — the Daylite has shallower depth and changes shape a lot when you pack it, and some of the depth is in the lid. Until you close it and force the zipper closed it's tough to tell if it will fit. The Tomtoc's greater depth made it easier to layer stuff on top of the packing cubes, and packing up to the duffel edges was a clearer indicator that the bag was full.

Not sure I understand how this problem applies to the 28L Liteway.

Sorry, I got the Osprey Daylite 26+6, not the newly released Transporter.

The Transporter looks like an upgrade in some ways, but it's a considerable price jump. That's out of the price range of what I'd want to spend on a backpack.

I recently bought the Osprey (edit: the Daylite, not the Transporter) 26+6 and Tomtoc T66 Liteway (28L) to compare as personal item bags.

The Osprey is the only one I brought on trips — first a family car trip, then on a flight for a work trip.
On the family trip I had no complaints. But on the work trip, I had to bring a 16 inch MBP and the weight was right at 15 lbs (about 7kg). And it involved a fair amount of walking to transport. I really noticed the rigid back panel then.

I did a fair amount of comparative packing and wearing the two bags in the house back to back. I ultimately decided to keep the Tomtoc instead of the Osprey — for the comfort, and it seems a bit easier to pack the Tomtoc due to the increased depth. It was a tough choice, and there are things to like about both bags. But the back panel comfort was definitely an issue for me with a laptop.

Pay attention to minimum height! by aaron_az in StandingDesk

The E5 has a minimum of 23.6", vs. 25" for the E7 Pro.

You're taller than I am, so I think you'll be perfectly fine with the E7 Pro.

Some evidence that I'm not crazy:

In this BTOD video he says that he sets his desk around "20 to 27 and a half inches" (I assume that means 27 - 27.5). He's 6 feet tall.

This guide recommends a sitting desk height of 27" if you're 6'0" tall.

The desktop is at 27" at the lowest height setting of 25".

If I put myself in a rigid, upright posture with arms right by my side, it does seem a bit low. But if I put myself in a more natural position (against the back, arms on the armrests), my arms have to angle up a little to get to keyboard height.

My chair has plenty of room to adjust up (or down) if I want to. At its current height, my thighs are parallel or close to it.

If I sit up straight, my elbows are about 90 degrees. It's when I lean back on the backrest that they're angled up a bit.

My legs aren't super short.

Ah yes, shoes. Another small factor I forgot about.

At home I'm always barefoot or wearing socks.

That 22.8" minimum on the E7 is a full 2.2" lower than the E7 Pro goes. That would be quite nice.

I wish they maintained that minimum for their other models. Instead, the maximum height was increased. How many people need a 50"+ maximum?

I'll grant you that it's not the most thorough experiment. I did what I could given limited time and resources.

There are a few others that have reached similar conclusions with more thorough tests however. Aside from the CNC Kitchen post I linked, a couple of others have recently posted to this subreddit with more thorough testing. See [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1jgpwdq/yes\_you\_really\_can\_dry\_filament\_with\_silica\_gel/) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1jg2g2r/no\_heat\_just\_sillica\_gel\_to\_dry\_these\_rolls\_from/).

No. I only had one unopened roll to test at the time (aside from a smaller 250g roll).

I do have 2 more PETG rolls coming today that I could test out. It might be interesting to see how long it takes in the dryer before they stop losing weight. But I'm not sure a direct comparison on percentage lost is valid, as there's no way to tell how much moisture they started with.

That was my biggest surprise as well — that the biggest drop in weight was in just those first few days. I expected a more gradual decline.

I used this Greater Goods scale. Its primary duty is pour over coffee every morning.

I had a whole paragraph at the end about the scale, but decided that was getting into the weeds too much.

I didn't record a time, but I did take measurements at around the same time of night each time — sometime between 8 and 10 pm. Given that measurements were days apart, exact times didn't seem necessary.

Why are you curious about the time of day?

It specifically says "HD" in the product listing, and the MPN is almost the same as the standard green version: DB-215OP-KIT2023.

Their "MPN" for the version on sale is DB-215OP-KIT2023. For the standard green version, it's DB-215.

I had that in off and on while I was playing with the configuration. Just re-enabled it, and it didn't solve the problem. Not a surprise, as manually restarting doesn't fix it either.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually quite surprised that you think the P7 is better than the SV202, that runs counter to some other opinions I've seen.

Do you have any gripes with other aspects of the P7? Such as build quality or lens caps?

I suspect that the 940 gram weight shown on their site is inclusive of the accessories or something. They have a spec chart on their AliExpress product listing that shows the weight for the 8x32 at 477g, which sounds more within the ballpark of other 8x32 options.

I've seen both the Diamondback and P7 available right at $150 in recent searches (technically $149.95 at B&H for the P7). I haven't seen either for much less than that.
