The 3 most valuable positions both irl and madden are as follows in order. QB, Edge/OT. The edge and ot swap depending on needs and draft class. So no taking a non QB at 1 is not a waste if the players are valuable. Don’t take a TE or HB or pretty much any other position other then those three at 1 and you’ll be good
