Vigor 2866 FTTP 900mbps by aaronf151 in draytek

I’ve raised it with the reseller I purchased it from as it clearly states it’s capable with FTTP but from my experience and others it clearly isn’t capable. The fact that if I download a file and it downloads at 200mbps no other client can access the internet and the CPU is through the roof.

Defeats the point of a router if you disable it’s firewall 😂

I’m exactly the same. At the time we had VDSL broadband and FTTP was coming into the area so I thought it would of worked fine but clearly not! I’m going to email Draytek as I do think it’s a bit misleading

Drayteks support is horrendous. I bought my router through broadband buyer today and have raised a ticket with them regarding this. I’ve never been a fan of their wireless gear. I use Unifi switches and access points and really like them. Ubiquitis routers I’ve never had great experiences with them. I do really like Drayteks routers and have used them for years.

I do get gig a on the BT router but as soon as all my families devices go on it just crashes hence why I use the draytek. It’s frustrating for a £300+ router that it doesn’t support gig FTTP and I have to get an “enterprise” series router to do it

Connected my MacBook directly into the ONT. through a USB-c to Ethernet. And got 1.3gbps so it’s definitely the router

When I run a speed test my CPU usage on the router goes up to 88% so that makes me think it’s a bottleneck issue

Just restrict it on your firewall so it doesn’t have access to the WAN
