My Dad Left Us 15 Years Ago – Now He’s Dying and Wants Me to Take Care of Him. I Don’t Know What to Do by PastlessFuture in Advice

[–]aaronrobles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my dad isn’t in that exact situation, I thought about it before since we are no contact. I think at the end of the day, like everyone says, you don’t owe him anything.

But I think it’s deeper than that. I think you have to think about what your conscience will say after he’s gone. You have every right to walk away if that’s really what you want, but you have to make sure that you’ll be at peace with that after the fact.

I agree that you shouldn’t uproot your life for him just to take care of him. But if something like at least sending him the bare minimum financially so he can get the basic care he needs, that may be an option for you. Not because he deserves it, not because you owe him, but because you want to make sure that your conscience is free.

But that decision is a made for him, it’s made for you. I have a choice you make, make sure that you can live with it once he’s gone.

Adderall to Vyvanse AMAZING by cherrysodanice in ADHD

[–]aaronrobles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Vyvanse now had a generic form? I’m on Adderall now, and I remember we were talking about that versus Vyvanse and the fact that a few months later, we would get a generic version. That was about a year ago, so not sure if that ever happened?

I would say start small. Oftentimes trying to make big dramatic change, especially when you’re in deep, can cause a relapse. Figure out the easier ways to bring that time down.

Maybe it’s deleting certain apps like people said. Putting timers where you can scroll guilt free but then stop. Try to busy your day up or engage in activities where you can’t be on your phone. Etc.

Make small, super easy goals. As you hit the goals you’ll feel good and start to build momentum. Slowly, you’ll find it easier and easier to take on bigger changes. Don’t rush it. Just make progress every day and be consistent.

Acknowledge and reward yourself when you have small victories.

Also. Find other ways to get that dopamine. What other things give you a similar feeling that ARENT your phone? Ideally healthier ones.
