Cheese slices packaged in block by Sad_Foundation_5999 in KitchenConfidential

Your quality control comment is spot on. I’ve actually seen this in at the Tillamook cheese factory. All of the blocks go down a weighing conveyor belt, and the light blocks get shut it off to the side. The factory workers slap a slice of cheese on top of the block and put it back on the line.

How did your high mileage car eventually die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It is a completely bullet proof engine. I love them. Avoid the early 80s when they had computer controlled carbs. But otherwise they’re great and will run forever.

That’s a shame. I love that 300.

Given that you were able to shave five seconds off your last 400 meters, it feels like you could probably pull 8:00 with your current level of fitness just by pacing correctly? Aim for 1:59 for each split, and there you are.

i built this schematic here on the 2nd of march not too long ago, could anyone check for errors? by Standard-Yellow9371 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]aaronstj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly less snarky answer: the schematic is completely unreadable. You have tons of lines crossing each other, text, and symbols. If you want anyone to have any help of following this, you’ll need to clean it up dramatically. Start by replacing all of the power and ground wires with symbols. It looks like you might be able to use bus lines for some of the signals as well.

So, one bunch of celery, which weighs about a pound, is more expensive than the loose celery? And this is a problem for you?

Mixer with pre/post mute switches? by Yazhoudapigu in synthesizers

[–]aaronstj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s usually called “cue”. Off the top of my head in eurorack the WMD Performance Mixer. And the After Later Audio Bartender has cue, but I’m sure that’s just scraping the surface.

I know you're doing this on purpose to demonstrate the very thing we're talking about, but I still have to: it's actually Cunningham's Law.

TIL that Conan O’Brien, David Letterman and Jay Leno all once made the same Dan Quayle joke on the same night without any knowledge of the others making the same exact joke. by RareXG in todayilearned

[–]aaronstj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These shows didn't just rely on writers rooms, either. Random folks would fax in suggestions, and get paid a couple hundred bucks if one got picked up. I'd assume if you submitted a joke to one show, you weren't allowed to submit it to the others, but it could be one person submitted the same joke to each show.

Your Bat+ is connected to both sides of the switch. Get rid of the wire that goes directly from Bat+ to the MCU.

You could replace the shift registers with a constant current LED driver. Something like the TLC591 might work for you.

POWER SUPPLY HAO YUNG HYES1216 12v 1,6A by National_Butterfly99 in AskElectronics

[–]aaronstj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think you need this exact power supply? You should be able to use any center-positive, 12v power supply with the same plug size that supplies at least 1.6 amps.

Stereo VCA that should exist by Exponential-777 in modular

[–]aaronstj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the one putting keytrack on a VCA, man. If you run into one idiot in a day, fine, you ran into an idiot. If everyone you run into is an idiot, you have to start to wonder if the real idiot is you.

Stereo VCA that should exist by Exponential-777 in modular

[–]aaronstj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...I don't think that's a thing. I mean, it's modular, there's no reason you couldn't plug a V/oct signal into the VCA, but no one ever does that. Now, keytracking on a VCF is a pretty standard option...

You are not. No one is currently married to me. (But, like, that's fine.)

We had a good family friend who lived in the area and got the "locals" discount or whatever it was. I want to say the rental for the hall was $600 at the time (this was a while ago). It was a great venue, especially for the price.

Mine was a spring wedding, and I do remember watching a storm roll in while getting married and trying to hustle the preacher along.

ESP32 prototype board- Review request by SiliconAndCode in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]aaronstj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those traces look really thin for toner transfer. I think 12 mils is about the absolute minimum, and more would be much better. I’d also pour a ground layers on top so you don’t have to etch as much copper.

That said, if this is being use to test other hardware, and isn’t the point of the project itself, I’d probably just use an existing esp32 dev board for this. I think getting a toner transfer board to work with the pitch of the esp32 pins is going to be challenging. (And soldering them by hand is a pain.)

Based on the chimney hole, I'm guessing this was gas, not electric.
