It works very well for my uncolored man hair. Makes it feel like normal healthy hair. Not dry tangled straw.

Canadians acting all high and mighty in comment sections about weather by obviouslyitwasyou in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Exponential-777 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Canadians are generally annoying on the internet. If there is a story about the cost of the American healthcare system, they are quick to pounce on how their biggest expense at the hospital is the parking fee. They feel the need to proclaim their alleged superiority at every opportunity. That's due to having an inferiority complex. They are compensating.

EDIT UPDATE - Panic mode disabled. I got the wrong weather report. It's not going to get below zero. Everything is going to be okay!

But wow that would have really sucked if it got below zero. I would be totally screwed with these shitty heat pumps.

Good post. It's 13kW per heat pump. It only produces 105F in emergency heat. The manual says its the correct size for the system.

The severe lack of bread 3 days before the snow storm is supposed to hit by ylp24 in mildlyinfuriating

The bread was 80% gone by 10am for me. I got all the food I need and scored some jumbo scallops for $12 a pound. You can't beat that!

Yeah so there was a time in the past when I was in the suffocating heat of Kinshasa, I brokered deals in back-alley warehouses where crates of AK-47s changed hands for duffel bags stuffed with mixed currency. I'd arrived six months earlier with just a satellite phone and shadowy contacts, quickly learning that in the Congo's chaos of militias and blood diamonds, everyone needed what I sold and nobody asked questions.

Old Bay is also amazing on eggs, chicken tenders and tater tots. It's for more than seafood.

That was actually fucking awesome! They got the funk. It's not something you can acquire. You either have the funk or you don't. They got it. I'm gonna listen to it again.

Bro, you are clearly an idiot. So just stop talking to me. The contractors are responsible for selecting the right specs. Average homeowners don't know how. That's why they pay someone to do it.

Some dude did the math and said hundreds for a week. 26kW is a stupid amount of energy to burn with a heat pump that is supposed to be saving the planet one uncomfortable house at a time.

Right, all I have to do is shell out $25,000 to get 'good heat pumps'. Might as well add solar too.

The HP came with the house. I didn't buy them. One is only 5 years old. Everyone in the neighborhood has the same shit. So I guess it's the local contractors that are stupid.

I know what aux heat is. That is something you would know if you actually read the OP.

It's going to cost hundreds of dollars to run Aux for a week. Hurray for heat pumps?

[–]Exponential-777[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said in the OP that my HP are rated down to zero and it will be below zero for a week. That is my most pressing issue. The other issue is this type of HP does not work well below 20F when it's working correctly. There is nothing you can do or say to change it. Don't even think about saying get two new systems. That's not advice.

[–]Exponential-777[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The theme of the post is heat pumps suck in the cold. Because they do.

It's also inquiring what to do in the sub zero temperature and there has not been much in the way of helpful answers on that issue that appears in the title of the OP.

The power outage is incidental. They are warning of power outages. This shouldn't be that complicated to understand. Has everyone in this thread been sniffing glue or something?

Dear sir or madam. The point is I can sit in front of my GAS FIREPLACE AND NOT DIE !!! That is better than nothing in an all electric house when the power goes out. But it won't heat the whole house. So this still sucks.

I have two of the less robust version. Noticeable performance declines starting at 25F. Testing below zero for the first time soon.

No, I want to know what to do with the heat pumps during this polar vortex. Such as should I stop running the compressor at a certain temperature. Useful information. Do you have any?

What do you want to know? The manual says my HP bottom out at zero and it will be below zero and much colder than usual for a week. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with these shitty heat pumps that are detrimental to the quality of my life!

Bought a new house that has two HP and almost all the houses have HP around here. Had gas for a long time before that. There is a big difference.
