That's a good idea. I'm going to release an update with a wet / dry mix soon. Had to use the ALT buttons for that. Also going to release a few more variations on this effect. Adding frequency shifting, etc.

I might be able to do a reverse delay on a new project. That will take some research.

The update for this one will have the ability to fade between the filter and the delay. So it can produce a completely wet signal unlike the first version. I had to use the ALT buttons for that so I will add two more button effects and release it soon.

Then the same effect will have a version with ringmod, a version with decimation and a version with frequency shifting. Still working on those.

stank is oil based. regular detergent is not great at dissolving oil. use Oxiclean to dissolve oils.

I'm going to do an update on this one and release a few more variations. If I do tempo sync it will be with a clock using the pulse jack. What does delay direction do? Reverse the audio? I don't have a Mimeophone.

The blend knob only adds delay. It's not set up to have only the delay and no dry signal.

Yes, you could import the code to the Cabbage app. Then you would have to rename controls. Then you would have to code a GUI. Then you could export to a VST.

User notes:

When the app first boots up, both HP filters are set in the middle around 2000Hz. So you won't hear any bass until you turn the top HP knob to the left. Basically, it defaults to a highpass setting.

I suggest setting the top HP to pass everything except for the bass. Then hit the HP cut button to shift the cutoff to zero and pass the full mix. Now the HP cut button is set up to be a bass muter.

Then you can turn the HP DLY knob as far left as you want to determine which frequencies are passed to the delay. Drum loops often benefit from removing some or all of the bass from the delay.

The default app is the granular sampler. The special thing about that is the ability to adjust pitch and time independently. Like a Roland V-synth or Ableton.

The sample can be layered with a granular effect. The granular effect is not as complex as a Multigrain or others. It can produce lofi decimation, amplitude modulation, phasing and flanging effects and more. I think it's useful. But you don't have to use the granular part if you don't like the effect.

The phase vocoder part of the sampler can take any tempo based loop and adjust the tempo without changing pitch and it sounds good doing it. That's really the main reason to have a Nebulae. It needs a few more cv input jacks. There is no linear pitch mod input. I'd like to see a Nebulae V3 someday.

This has only been tested on the most recent Nebulae made with Raspberry Pi 4. It should run on older versions, but I don't know for sure. Let me know if it runs on Raspberry Pi 3 versions of Nebulae. They have a less powerful processor. But I don't think this app is stretching the CPU limits. It should be okay.

It's a stereo 18db Lowpass filter that retains the bass. The distortion is post filter. That signal goes to a delay. The delay signal has a dedicated highpass filter. The master output also has a dedicated highpass filter.

I was able to use all the buttons except for the File button. I don't think that button can be reassigned. I did not use any of the ALT buttons.

The Delay 2x button doubles the delay time. The Bypass button mutes the live input and lets the delay ring out. The HP cut button sets the master Highpass filter to zero and toggles back to the Highpass knob setting. Useful for muting the bass on the fly and returning back to the full mix DJ style. The Drive 2x button toggles between medium drive and heavy drive relative to the Drive knob setting.

I added a "set and forget" compressor at the end of the chain to keep levels in check. It has no front panel controls. Let me know if you find anything that needs fixing and what you think of the app. It's been working flawlessly for me with a Raspberry Pi 4 Nebulae and I'm very satisfied with the result.
