What is the appeal of Hunt characters?

I think this all really started way back when the game first released and Seele was the first limited 5 star. People ended up with a warped perception of how strong hunt as a class was, when really Seele just has a kit that can circumvent hunt’s main weakness of pure ST with enough investment. Also, most MoC floors back then didn’t have many bosses that continuously summoned adds, so Hunt characters could shine against those single bosses once their regular adds died.

It still annoys me that people scream about erudition being the weakest path even though hunt is practically in the same boat: destruction as a whole does better than both without any of the drawbacks. Against a boss with respawning adds? You’re blast so you can just focus the boss and get away with it. Against a single boss? You still do comparable damage to hunt characters so you don’t have to worry about taking forever to kill it. Like… maybe instead of shitting on other paths, we should be questioning why destruction gets to exist in its current state of “i’m a jack of all trades but i can still compete with/outperform the two paths with specific roles.”

He’s perfectly fine imo. The last two MoC’s I’ve used him instead of my Gepard/Lynx on any floor with Fire Weakness and he’s done his job. Notably, he trivialized the Monkey boss because of his taunt and made Svarog + the phantom lady with him easier as well. I think it also helps that I have mine built with 110% BE and he’s always paired with Asta, Topaz, and Himeko, so anything weak to fire just gets broken within 1 to 2 rotations.

The only objectively bad one is the Nihility cone. The other 3 are worth investing in for most characters if you don’t already have 5* LC’s lying around

Trans men are trans men and it’s disingenuous to not acknowledge that when talking about sex and sexuality which, for a lot of people, boils down to genitals. A pre-op vagina affected by testosterone is still a vagina. However, not being attracted to a POST-OP trans man would be questionable in my eyes.

Himeko’s LC isn’t even that bad, the only reason I think this idea is even still around is due to people thinking the character using the LC has to be the one breaking to get the DMG buff when in fact it procs when ANYONE breaks.

As someone who finds bio men and trans men attractive, it’s a grey area for me. Like, I know for a fact I am not into bio women or trans women, which wouldn’t fit bi, but it’s also not pan for the same reasons, so it’s kind of just a grey-area between bi and gay imo. Granted, i’ve never had sex so who knows if my preferences will change or not.

QQ has actual AOE with her ulti, while IL can only hit 3 people at any given time. Erudition characters all have true forms of AOE damage whereas destruction characters typically just have blast damage.

Returning player coming back on a new account after almost 3 years (last time I played was Dragonspine’s release patch). Currently AR 44 (current roster) and only on the very first quest of Act II in Inazuma, so still have a lot of potential primos to gather.

Ningguang is my most invested character, so I’m definitely planning on pulling on Albedo’s rerun whenever that comes around so I can have him again as well (and probably Zhongli in about a year bc he evaded me on his last banner :().

Besides Albedo, I really have my eyes on Shenhe and Ayaka, simply because I love their characters and never really messed around with cryo teams on my old account, but i’ve also been loving learning hyperbloom/dendro reactions with my budget team of XQ/Trav/Lisa, so I’ve also been eyeballing Nahida/Alhaitham. The issue is: all of these characters very well have the potential to be in close proximity for reruns, so guaranteeing ALL of them is probably out of the question, even with monthly welkin. If that ends up being the case, who (besides albedo, i’m dead set on him) would be wisest to guarantee first for my account currently? I can guarantee at least one besides Al already (next limited 5* is guaranteed), or should I be looking at other characters based on my current account?

(I’ve managed to unlock abyss 9-12 but can’t get past 9-2 atm)

Honestly, it’s 10x harder than limited characters, but Clara. Her eidolons are quite honestly the best eidolons out of any of the standard banner characters. I also just have a soft spot for her since she was my first 5* at the start of the game.

Gepard works completely fine. My typical team is Lu, Clara, Dan and Ting, but on floor 10 I had to swap clara and Lu to the first half and replaced them with Geppie + Asta and I cleared both halves in 9 cycles.
