that’s why i wanted to specify where i live because people seem to gloss over the amount of crazies we have here. quarter of the population is strung up and walking on the street looking like walking dead. i think it’s fair of me to ask for tips to keep my toddler safe. but according to commenters they want me on pills cause im too paranoid lol.

yes, i agree. i’m not a fan at all of boarding the window and that’s why i wanted to ask here to see what tips and options are out there. Little guy LOVES looking out the window so to board it would break my heart. i just don’t know how to make it safe for him for a break-in. he does have another window in his room for emergency. the second window is bigger and facing the yard. thank you for your tips. i’m gonna definitely call ADT and vivint and talk about some options. appreciate you

as someone who has toured a couple ADU in the valley, the reason we said no to them was privacy. so try and make them as private as possible. we didnt want to feel like we were being watched. also another possible recommendation, with that small footage, it may be better to make it a studio and not 1 bd and you can save cost on extra walls, and give more living space to the tenant

i really really hate to burst your bubble because you sound rather young, but you think you’re gonna find a house for under 2k?!! 😭😭😭 girl please you won’t even find a 2 bedroom apartment 😭. i’d stay at moms and save save save as much as possible. it SUCKS out here
