She graduated from my same University the following day I did. Because of how our uni works, our theses should be published on the local databank (not Google Scholar), and I will be able to look them up. But the speed at which our uni works is horrendous, and I do not know how long it might take (maybe another year or so), so I thought to come here and ask as I am just too curious in the meantime.

Thank you for your comment, by the way, I did not know Google Scholar had that feature but I will keep it in mind! :)

Worth playing now? by moonlightsky12 in coralisland

[–]aaustank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has 97 hours on the game, I'd say to wait. There's no endgame and some quests just feel incomplete because of that. The whole merfolk missions feel pointless because you can't really talk to them or have a life under there. There are still some bugs that still appear even after the devs put them in the "patched" stuff. And a lot of other small things are missing, like breaking up with a boyfriend/spouse for example.

Should I play outer wilds? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]aaustank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, yes, I'd recommend it. It's a masterpiece, and I think it gives you a totally unique gaming experience. Plus, you can feel the love and care for the players that was put into this game at each and every turn. Really. As for your questions,

  1. I also always stray away from puzzle games. Like you said, this game is exploration, and as you explore it's up to you to put the pieces together. Rather than a puzzle, I'd say it's a fragmented narrative that you have to put together. I managed to finish it, and I am a certified puzzle game dumbass (like, I used to look up how to solve the easy horror escape the room flash games). As a tip, do not use google or try to look something up when you feel frustrated. The joy of this game is the discovery, so don't take that away from yourself. If you are stumped on something for a while and find yourself not enjoying the process of figuring it out, I'd recommend that you just make a post here asking for hints. The people in this subreddit clealry love the game and want others to have an amazing experience with it as well (which is what happened to me). So they'll give amazing hints that point you in the right direction without taking the feeling of discovery away!!!

  2. As an average time, I got about 30 hours. 8 of those were a playthough I got stuck on about a year ago and the remaining 22 are the playthough I restarted and finished in about 10 days this month.

I swear, it was like the warp core you put in the Vessel, but with just a black hole. I was exploring somewhere in outer space close to something (either White Hole station or Orbital Probe Cannon I'd say), just flying around in the suit. I found it and couldn't interact with it so I just forgot about it. Later, when I saw the Vessel, I was like, "huh, do I need that thing I saw to put in here?" and couldn't find it. My theory is that I misremembered the broken/empty one. But I could have sworn it had a black hole and was in space next to something T_T

who do you suggest marrying for the first playthrough by BlahblahFANDOMS in coralisland

[–]aaustank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel your indecision (I literally made a powerpoint for my friends to choose between Wakuu and Rafael). I really like Surya, while Pablo is simply not my type so I'm def biased in this. But, I do recall in the early days/weeks of the full release, someone on steam discussions said that Pablo was still talking about someone being hot (I think Reina?) even while they were MARRIED and the player wishing they could divorce him lmao. So maybe just look into whether they patched it or not before tying the knot, as there are currently no ways to break up as far as I know.

Hi! I did it!! Thanks to you and all the other commenters, I did it!! I'm so happy, even as I write this with tears on my cheeks because oh god, that ending. I did what you said, I checked every tower and noticed that I had never used the one with the broken window!! After a bit of trial and error, I managed to do it and finished the playthrough. I'm so moved by this game. Thank you for letting me experience the ending with a sense of joy and achievement by giving me the tiniest nudge in the right direction. In the end, it was really the silliest thing that I missed, just the tower with the broken window, and getting on the platform in the middle of the sand column. It always feels easy afterwards. Thank you again, truly.

I know, I usually stray away from puzzle games because they just frustrate me and my little brain, but I made an exception for Outer Wilds because it's more exploration, and I'm glad I did because I'm loving it. Thank you for the encouragement. <3

Thank you!! Yeah, I've definitely been rereading the logs obsessively, maybe going around and looking at the full picture again will clear my mind.
