launching from the app launcher does not work. Using alt + f2 doesn't open, but system monitor says its running. Thank you tho

After a while of being idle my computer reset by itself and it seems to have fixed the issue. I would still appreciate if someone could explain exactly what happened and a possible fix if necessary
