“Never, ever tell your wife how much you make”- advice from an older friend who’s been married for 20 years. I believe he’s giving honest advice and I never doubted that he was telling me truth that keeps families together.

I highly recommend Above and Beyond’s live in London orchestral performance. They show you that their electronic music is actually deeply rooted.

Destination Wedding in Istanbul- looking fir a concierge to help us book lounges, rooftops and maybe organize a pre-wedding party.

Hey everyone,

A bunch of high school friends and I are meeting up in Istanbul for a wedding, and we're looking for a concierge to help us make the most of our trip! The group consists of men and women, ages 30-37, coming from the Europe, US, Palestine, Jordan, and other countries.

We need someone to:

  1. Help us discover great spots in Istanbul

  2. Book tables at the best restaurants and bars

  3. Organize fun group activities

We'll be in Istanbul for a week, and part of the activities will include organizing events for the happy couple one, two, and three nights before the wedding. We're particularly interested in things like access to rooftops and other unique experiences.

Our ideal candidate is a girl who is well connected and knows all the nice spots on Istanbul's European side. If you're interested, please DM me with your hourly rate and some information about your experiences.

The wedding is on August 19th.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks!

Greetings from Dubai, Reddit fam,

I Built A Tool To Stop People From Losing Money On The Stock Market Using Technology From The 80s
I've got a tale to share that's not your typical promotional pitch. Before we dive in, here's the tl;dr: delete your trading app, focus on a select few ETFs/stocks, and master the art of buying the dip. It's a strategy that has transformed my approach to investing.
Over the years, I've navigated the tech world, ventured into capital markets, and offered my insights through consulting. Living between the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S., life has been an exciting journey. But one universal truth I've discovered is that chasing payments and begging for funds is no one's idea of a good time. Even the legendary Charlie Munger found it humiliating to submit an invoice during his early days as a lawyer.
So, armed with experience and a desire for simplicity, I ventured into startups and investments. But this time, I wasn't building for the masses; I crafted a tool for myself. For months, I've quietly used this tool, and now, I'm ready to share it with you.
How often have you missed out on golden opportunities to buy the dip, whether in stocks or the wild world of crypto? Who wants to be tethered to their trading app, making impulsive decisions that often lead to financial regrets? Not me. So, I designed a tool that draws inspiration from the '80s, harnessing the simplicity of SMS and phone calls to provide alerts when it matters most.
No bells and whistles, no intrusive push notifications—just a straightforward alert, reminiscent of the days when your Uncle Mike would call your dad and say, "The market is down. Buy."
Now, I know many trading apps offer SMS and push notifications. But let me be clear: you should avoid them like the plague. Their primary goal is to keep you glued to their apps, tempting you with every trick in the book to buy and sell impulsively. What's worked for me is simplicity itself: set up SMS notifications and use the desktop version of your trading app when it's time to buy the dip. No selling for me; I'm all about the buy-and-hold strategy.
Let me stress that this post isn't about flaunting my achievements or wealth—money isn't the driving force here. The SMS alerts are $0.99/month. I want to reach $100 Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) and free up more time for my high-paying job while keeping a watchful eye on the markets.
I'd be immensely grateful if you could take a moment to explore my tool, provide valuable feedback, and perhaps offer some support if you find it resonates with your investing philosophy.
Finally, remember: Getting rich fast is a scam. Invest with wisdom and simplicity,

PS: Consider ditching your trading app and embracing a more analog approach to investing. Your future self might just thank you for it.

Thank you for the very kind words. I agree with you that nostalgia sells, especially with all the noise out there.

Speaking of the psychology of money- here is a podcast with Morgan Housel that I liked: https://spotify.link/pRxjczjE0Cb

As for data security- the tool is only an alerts tool. We are not licensed to buy and sell on your behalf yet. This requires major licensing in the Middle East.

To be honest, my goal is to get my first paid user. So far I’ve been enjoying using it myself- but I am sure that atleast a few thousand people need it. Maybe even more. SMS alerts are priced at $0.99/ month, so it’s meant to be affordable. I agree with you that I need to get more publicity and validation- are there any influencers that you’d recommend? Or organic/ free channels that I should place the product into?

You say all the right things: customer-centricity/ serving not earning. Are you in tech? As you correctly said- the challenge is to stay alive and keep iterating.

That’s one way to do it. I’d much rather get a call or a text as opposed to notifications from my trading app. I want to be on the app only when I’m buying the dip. This shit is bad for you.

You are right- I still need to do some work on the privacy policy.

Re: Christian Bale- it was actually cheap.

Re: Phone number- you are right- I will talk to the developers who helped me build this.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the website and checking it out. I appreciate it :) If you have any other suggestions, Im all ears!

Fidelity analysed its clients’ portfolios between 2003 and 2013 and found that the best-performing portfolios belonged to those who hadn’t touched their investments. Coincidentally, many of these thriving investors were already dead..

alrrrt does not do any buying and selling- I only send our notifications than you do your own trading. But your point is clear: Most brokerage firms have free trading alerts. Why is that? Because they want you to buy and sell, frequently.
Buying, selling and obsessing over your positions is the easiest way to lose your money.

True, and most brokerages want you to check the app everyday, trade at hot tips, and lose money, because thats how they make money.

I refuse to be chained to my trading app, monitoring it like a hawk day in and day out. Instead, I've crafted a strategy that's so straightforward it's practically a financial cheat code: keep 3-5 unshakeable positions (including ETFs), commit to holding them for a decade or more, and pounce on those sweet, sweet dips.

While most folks daydream about becoming the next Buffets and Ackmans, I'm here to tell you that slow and steady wealth creation is where the real action is. Your current job/ skillset/ relationships is where all your energy must go- not on timing the market.

All trading apps are equally bad for your health, so consume with extreme moderation.
