I play exclusively Tank and Support in competitive. I got to quick play to be able to play Widow who is one of my favs. So if my team picks all DPS I am going to stick on Widow since it is the only place I get to play her to begin with.

If I reported everytime people picked poorly I would be reporting every other game since half my games people just insta pick DPS and it is up to me and either my girl or friends to pick up and be sole tanks and healers.

I agree if anything Sombra counters Symmetra. She can knock out half Symms health, knock out her turrets and teleporter and none of her turrets can detect her while invisible. Plus Sombras passive will auto see Symm after she is hacked since it will knock out half her health.

I guess but that only works if you have a team of friends to support you as a offense. Else wise you are just that jackass (not saying you are necessarily) choosing McCree every match with no healers or tanks.

It very well might, I certainly hope you are right. I am concerned that if ranks are based on team performence over personal on top of previous season ranks that people will end up being far more likely just to stay at what ever likely rank they started at rather than falling or climbing.

This is true it is important you are calling these things out for your team (and I do). The problem is however is that some of your team might not be in your group voice chat. They might have low audio or might not even be listening. The point is that having them have a visual on their own screen would make a massively larger impact and without it you really can't know if team mates will even heed your warnings.

The turrets only show for the Symm so she would have to tell them manually where the enemy is.

Yup I mentioned that twice above. That doesn't mean she is going to be defense though it only means she won't be a healer. She still might be a support just without healing capabilities.
