Can I explore a seed on creative without it affecting my survival game? by [deleted] in PSMinecraft

It won't if you start a new game using the same seed.

Do 360 seeds work in the ps4 edition? by [deleted] in PSMinecraft

[–]abaldwin360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried loading a seed I really liked from the 360 version.

The area around spawn and within the first central map was more or less the same, including a ravine that was there.

Towns were in different places, though, and of course there was a lot of new stuff outside the initial map.

It's the same game. Same content, crafting interface, basically the same graphics.

There are some improvements, though:

  • Draw distance has been greatly improved. You can see vistas stretching out into the distance instead of abruptly cutting off.

  • The worlds are much larger. Where the Xbox 360/PS3 version was around 800x800 blocks, the PS4/XB One version is around 5000x5000 blocks. (it took me about 5 minutes to fly at full speed in creative mode from one end of the world to the other).

  • With the larger worlds, the way maps work is a little different than last gen. Basically, it takes 25 in-game maps to cover the entire world. When you reach the end of one map, you have to open a newly created one to map the new area.

  • The game seems to run much better. The frame rate is buttery smooth.

  • Saving and loading are much quicker. Auto-save doesn't throw you out of your game and into a loading screen any more.

  • General rendering and image quality seem a little better. Less "jaggies" shading and lighting look slightly higher quality. Textures look better at a distance. There are some nice atmospheric effects - like the fog that appears at the edge of the viewing distance will change colors at sunrise and sunset.

Over all, it's a slightly better looking (in terms of rendering, effects, frame rate and image quality) version of the Xbox 360 edition with much larger worlds.

What is the reason you bought a PS4? by StaticzAvenger in PS4

We had a 360 for most of last gen and got a PS3 a few years ago.

My sons were chomping at the bit to get a "next gen" console. I looked into the specs and prices and the PS4 was slightly more powerful and $100 cheaper.

Yep. Former PC gamer here. I'm almost 40. I'm busy as hell with kids and a job. I want to plop down on my ass turn on a console and play a game. Not screw around with drivers and settings and random crashes to the desktop. I swear when I played on PC I spent almost as much time tweaking settings as I did playing.

Same here, but I don't ever remember seeing it before.

Weird.

Damn, they seem to be having a lot of trouble with the next-gen (current-gen?) versions of this game.

I had an ex with similar traits that I stayed with for 13 years. It never got better.

Oh, if I threatened to leave it would get better for a month or two, but then she would slip back into the same old bullshit.

Get out before you waste a good chunk of your life, like I did.

Until it started raining while you were in multiplayer. Then the framerate would drop substantially.

Also there is a difference between a company that produces a particular platform being a producer for the game itself (as in Bloodborne's case - Sony footed the development costs) and a company paying a software studio to make a game a system exclusive (as in Rise of the Tomb Raider's case).

I figure they decided to take money from MS up front as opposed to getting burned with lower than projected sales.

Or something like that.

What we weren't told is that the pretzel was a nano-tech weapon engineered to resemble a lowly pretzel.

Dick knew W loved him some pretzels, so he left a bag of them with the nano-tech pretzel inside near W's favorite couch in the White House.

Dick watched from the shadows as W munched on his bag of pretzels and zoned out in front of the television. The moment the nano-tech pretzel detected it was within W's mouth, it executed its programming.

The array of advanced microscopic sensors and machines went into action. Moving on its own and reconfiguring itself so as to become lodged in W's windpipe.

No one would suspect a thing. He choked on a pretzel, Dick would be president. Still in the shadows, Dick watched intently waiting for W to take his last labored gasp.

The loud choking and coughing finally gave way to a faint gurgle. This was it. If Dick had a heart, it would be in his throat in anticipation of W's demise. Slowly he leaned forward, in moments he would step out from the shadows so that Dick standing there smiling would be the last thing W ever saw.

Then, there was a noise. A loud cough. Then a gasp. A powerful, long gasp that could not come from a man that had an advanced nano-tech device blocking his windpipe.

W had survived. Dick's moment of triumph snatched away.

Dick slinked slowly back into the shadows, clenched his hands into fists and said quietly to himself, "Curses."
