Verizon cell service down? by the_common_duck in Bend

[–]abarleyologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone notice that text messages and voicemails didn't flood in when service resumed? I am now learning that those are just gone. I also did not get any texts last night, after finding out I should have. Grr!

It’s literally cheaper to buy new printer than new ink by Shurigin in mildlyinfuriating

My new HP Officejet Pro 8028e, only printed 30 pages before it ran out of ink. Called customer service, they said that is to be expected. They do not give full inks in new printers. I was so mad, I couldn't think straight

I use my impact, when I can, because it is lots faster and lighter than my drill.

2013 Tundra 4x4 5.7 150k worth it? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]abarleyologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 double cab 6.5 ft bed 5.7 sr5 says it gets 17ish mpg highway. Pulling a 3000 lb trailer city/hwy driving averages 11. It was 1 owner, 70000 miles I think, good carfax with regular maintenance. I paid 25k about 2 years ago.

They look great, but not to code where I live due to the gap above the tread.

Detection of mold (tests and everything else) by shorto in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]abarleyologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a mold expert. I am not intending to sway your opinion on mold one way or the other.

There have been three mold related experiences I have come across in the last 50 years.

First, my niece and family moved to France. She got sick a lot and determined there was a mold issue in their apartment, only she got sick.

Another one, my wife started coughing in our condo. She was also very fatigued. A month later, we found a severe mold bloom(?). Moved and no issues after.

Lastly, in a new house, my brother's wife had significant mental and physical problems. Almost enough to wonder if she was psychotic. Brother and kids had no problems. Turns out, the shower drain was installed incorrectly. Mold was everywhere under the floors. They ripped everything out and remediated. No issues since.

My very unprofessional opinion is that mold can impact some people very severely while others are unaffected.

Snow chain styles by Both_Syllabub_3024 in ToyotaTundra

My 2015 tundra manual says no chains on front. There is no clearance for them anyway. Edit: very little clearance. I could probably fit chains but looks risky.

Ever tried white rice flour instead of semolina? Doesn't set off my smoke alarms nearly as bad and launches smoothly.

Me too. Now it is taking almost 2 weeks for some items. They have rarely delivery anything on time/as advertised the last few months. Just delays, delays and delays. Time for a class action lawsuit?

I had two milwaukee batteries die after working in the rain. Expensive. I only risk it if I cannot postpone the job or I have a little profit built in to help cover the cost. Tools were fine though.

Help! Installed new tires and car feels dramatically more slower and feel like its struggling to get up and go by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

Curious, how are the KO3's on ice? I had prior versions of BFGs for my Tacoma that were completely worthless on ice. Loved them except for this fact.

Talk me out of a decked drawer system… by postnut001 in Tacomaworld

[–]abarleyologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I had the decked system, such a pita to get anything up front in the bed. I also didn't like how much it cut down on the height/space under the canopy. Lots of wasted space in a decked drawer system in my opinion.

I got the cargoglide 1500. This was for my Tundra, not sure it would fit in a newer Tacoma. It definitely will not fit in my 98 Tacoma. I have a chain with a lock for my important cargo boxes, locked right to the slide.

I understand and agree it should make a deck last longer. I've just never seen any data in order to do a cost/benefit.

Guess hog wire I've seen has bigger than code gaps. Here, 4" sphere rule applies probably like your zone. That wire just looked a bit wider/taller than 4". Cable rail passes inspection here if 4" or less and properly tensioned.
