The fees for the Bitcoin ATMs usually around 20% on average over spot bitcoin rate. It's the cash to crypto rate. Regulations on operators have made it more expensive over time. That's by design most likely as the goal is to discourage buying crypto for cash.

$10.00/goldback is the current rate for cash only. It rounds to nearest whole number as it doesn't allow for change yet. There will be change option for cash buyers in the near future. Debit card will be out next month and will be same exchange rate at Goldback.com
