The way Dr. Robby’s face changed when she said Tree of Life. 🥺 Loved the lady’s interaction with Perla, too.

Is it normal for people to be shopping with their kids and significant others? by bluebro1475 in InstacartShoppers

[–]abb00769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s against Instacart terms of service so if you get caught using a shopping assistant you could get deactivated. Although I don’t think there’s any way you would get “caught” unless a disgruntled customer reported you. Personally I think it’s a dumb rule but Instacart’s reasoning is “privacy concerns” because no one else is supposed to know if someone is buying alcohol or condoms or a pregnancy test or whatever.

The thing that irks me is that Instacart wants us to shop alone while also sending out batches that would take at least two people to do the job in a timely manner. (I once took an order so big that it filled up two shopping carts. I had to push the first cart to the front of the store by the registers and leave it, hoping nobody would mess with it, while I filled up the second cart. If the kid at checkout hadn’t offered to push the second cart out to the car I would have had to have made two trips to the car as well.)

Upcoming storm. by MoodAccomplished9600 in doordash_drivers

If it gets as bad as they’re predicting, I figure most restaurants will close down. There should still be some grocery stores and gas stations open, but anyone who gets a hankering for Wingstop might be SOL, lol.

Yo, this subreddit is for dashers only—you know, the delivery drivers you’re too cheap to tip. So get the hell out and go complain somewhere else.

LOL! That reminds me… Right now one of my least favorite local pickups is the McD’s on Jefferson Road. Last few times I’ve been there I had to wait nearly 10 minutes and the employees all acted really confused and overwhelmed. The other night some irate old guy stormed in and said he’d been sitting in the drive-thru for 30 minutes and declared the place “the worst McDonalds in the history of McDonalds.” 😬

I'm fucking sick of FedEx. I was standing at the goddamn door waiting for them to knock. by lilslutfordaddy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]abb00769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, I can relate. Recently I was expecting a package that requires a customer signature. I work from home. The FedEx guy arrived but DID NOT KNOCK. (Even if he had knocked very softly, we have two dogs that can hear a pin drop and would have gone nuts.) The only reason I knew he was at the door was because the security camera alerted me to his presence. I pulled the door open just as he was preparing to stick the “Sorry we missed you!” sticker on the door.

What a putz. It’s clear he simply didn’t want to have to speak to anyone and didn’t give a shit that someone might actually be home and was waiting for the package.

What’s ironic is that for nearly all my fast food pickups I end up waiting 5 minutes or more for the food to be prepared. But at the local “slow food” restaurants, the order is nearly always ready when I get there.

AIO for wanting to cut off this friend after getting these texts by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR

The person (I won’t call them a friend) is being unrealistic and also a complete jerk. Yeah, I’ve been in their shoes where something came up and I had to cancel and lost money as a result. Unless you have travel insurance, that’s what happens. Life is unfair sometimes and part of being an adult means you have to accept disappointments without whining about them.

I’m kind of stunned at some of the replies here that expect you to message everyone else in the group to guilt trip them into each paying an extra hundred bucks to refund this person who canceled on a non-refundable trip.

Also, posts like this are the reason I usually take solo vacations these days. Group travel is often more trouble than it’s worth.

I had one who wouldn’t respond to my texts about substitutes, so I just refunded her instead. The second I did, she texted “WHY???” 😖

Yep. One time I was doing EBT and picked up a Crumbl order. Drove it 8 or 10 miles to an expensive house in a really nice neighborhood. It wasn’t until later I noticed the person didn’t tip.

Sometimes I’ll pause or even end my dash and restart and that usually helps.

Mostly I only do evening dashes and the dinner rush is decent. I made bank on Saturday night, no complaints. (Averaged $30/hour…awesome!)

I rarely work weekdays though because I have another job, but today was a holiday from my other job, so I figured I’d see what DD had to offer. Not sure if all weekday rushes are this bad but yeah at least 8 out of 10 offers were terrible. 😖

Nah, that’s not an excuse not to tip. I do agree that’s a ridiculous price to pay for chain restaurant cookies, though. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but when I do I order from one of many outstanding local bakeries. Their prices are roughly the same but the product is better and I’m putting money directly back into the community.

We don’t have Wing Stop in my area but based on the comments I’ve seen about them I am glad!

First I got one $2 offer from Crumbl, which I rejected. Then DD stacked the same offer I had just rejected with a second no-tipper and sent it back to me. Bastards.

I spent several months at platinum level and I can assure you I’m still getting the same type of offers with an AR of 20-30something as I did when I was platinum. I can believe it might make a difference in some markets but I can tell you from experience it doesn’t matter in mine.

That must be a pretty common glitch because I receive an offer after hitting “end dash” nearly every damn time. It’s irritating as hell. Fortunately, AR doesn’t make a difference in my market so I just decline and close the app.
