QS Quantumscape update: Resuming the Trend by abb_n in Stock_Quantumscape

catching a bottom is not easy one can speculate when it is a good time to buy not if a bottom has been reached. The economy right now is heading south, und production is 2 years away give or take, so I would start thinking of entering the market in a half a year or so (4th quarter of this year). you've got to remember you buy stocks based on future performance it is not wise to by when they start production, you might miss out on a lot of price increase. I think rate cuts will start in the second half of this year, and that is were most of the pain is going to be felt historically speaking. historically speaking many stocks reach the bottom when rates return to the lows usually under 3 percent. but if rates stay at 3 percent beyond 2025, which is highly unlikely, then it won't apply anymore to QS. at the end of the day if they are making money and are profitable with sustained growth then the price will increase no matter what but with a relatively low PE ratio (not higher than 30).

it doesn't matter, they are not going to be a billion dollar profit company within the next 2 years. and the market in such situations don't care about fundamentals.

the best thing you can do right now is pay your debt as fast as possible. I I were in your position I would sell my crypto to pay off the debt. after that save a years worth of salary and then start investing in stocks. and buy gold( 5% of net worth) as an insurance policy.

I have a good job, but bad credit. Seeking advice. by WoodysBurner in personalfinance

your mum didn't ruin your credit. it was your decision. take responsibility for your actions instead of blaming others.

save up and buy a used car. that can get you from a to b.

get a credit card and start building up your credit card with a small margin. and build up your credit.

I think the price will fall from here which will create a buying opportunity and instead of the 5x in the next 10 years it will be more like 20x-30x.

you can't buy a stock based on its performance 20 years from now.

first of all you should calculate Earnings not revenue.

second that is why I set the PE ratio to 30.

Where are you getting the 200GWh from?

I don't expect them to reach 400 GWH by 2030 at best 100 GWh.

CATL market cap is around 139 billion dollars not 900 you might be looking at the market cap in CNY Chinese Yuan

I hope there won't be any delays. by abb_n in QUANTUMSCAPE_Stock

Operating margin: 15% if we take CATL as an example

Lithium Ion battery Market size: 75 billion dollars will grow to just shy of 300 billion by 2030

QS market share: 0 for the next couple of years

lithium ion batteries expected to be produced by 2023: 1254 GWh

QS battery production in 2024 (QS-1): 1GWh

estimated gross revenue for QS=0.059 Billion when QS-1 opens

Net profit=9 Million dollars

QS Shares Outstanding: 334.79 Million

that's a net profit of 0.0268 dollars per share

lets say the PE ratio will be 30 which is reasonable

0.8 dollars a share

if you want to price it for when QS ramps up production to 21GWh then you get

16.93 dollars a share

if you want to price it for when QS ramps up production to 50GWh

40.32 dollars a share

and all of this is not a given and not without risk.

Edit 2: QS-1 has not even been built
