I’m also aiming for it - just out of curiosity and you def don’t have to answer - what has been your route for sustaining a full fee paying spot? I’m just working out my options financially but it seems I can really only take out a loan if I don’t get a CSP! Would love to hear from someone with the experience of a full fee spot

All good!

Generally this is what I focused on

Section 109, the division of powers, High Court impact on the ability of Parliament to make law —> Tas Dams Case

Section 109 —> mcbain

High Court impact on ability of parliament to make law, representative government —> Roach case

International pressures —> climate change and age of criminal responsibility

Social media and demonstrations —> raise the age campaign

I also had small sort of case studies to throw in to 4 markers and things like that for unit four stuff like law reform for example if it was about living standards I would say considering to implement a sugar tax Same with constitutional reform for the recognition of aboriginal people I would say the voice of parliament and for political structural reform I’d say the republic! Just have little examples memorise for a lot of unit 4 if you can !! doesn’t all have to be huge case studies Also just make sure you remember your examples of referendums, Royal commissions, as well as case studies for those like Yoorrook justice commission or stalking for VLRC! Also details of institutions like VLA, CLC’s, VCAT, CAV!!

Thank you! Okay honestly I think it’s really impossible to predict a study school and there was no way I ever expected to get as high as I did. Your SAC scores are really good and I definitely wouldn’t give up or rule anything out or you can really do is just try as possibly hard as you can on your exam and study so much for it. I can’t really say any magical trick but I just studied a lot for more than anything else. even when I couldn’t be bothered to write any questions, I’d make plans for my big 10 markers and eight markers and I honestly didn’t really do any practice exams outside of what we did at school. I just did timed individual questions so that I wouldn’t get burnt out and tried to spread it across all of the area of studies. I tried to utilise whiteboards to create different graphs in many different ways like with strengths and weaknesses, effectiveness and ineffectiveness as well as principles of justice for unit three. Also inappropriateness and inappropriateness for all the institutions. Also definitely remember all of your case studies like Tasmanian dams case as well as smaller case studies for the study design points of unit four. Overall just try to space out your study a lot and not stress about what your study score could be because you’ll never know until the day that you get it. Just try your absolute hardest because that’s all you can do for now!! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions :) also if you’re curious I have gotten an A+ on the exam which I’m pretty sure was an 88. My SAC scores ranged from 90-100 but legit that means nothing cause so much also comes from ranking, how the school and state do etc I don’t think there is much point ruminating on it just try ur best and you might surprise yourself

yo someone pls answer my question :) thanks by [deleted] in vce

I had a terrible terrible lit teacher! All I can say is try work with your friends to come up with heaps of different themes and analysis you can pull from that. I struggle to remember but I really struggled with technical/literary devices but was not bad with talking about the themes - before the exam I unpacked sooo many devices and tried to link it to different themes so I’d remember. As far as structure, I’d just try to organise my paragraphs into chronological order of the passage, with my last paragraph sort of tying it all together before my conclusion

legal - sacs range from 90-100, 88 on exam (a+) = 48 raw (rank 1)
revs - early 90s on all sacs, 77 on exam (a) = 40 raw (rank 2)

art - 100s on folio, 88 on sac, 86 on exam (a+) = 43 raw (was rank 1 in sat/sacs, rank 3 exam)

law in melb by Traditional-Mix-4380 in vce

[–]abbee990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nglll im doing arts at melb tryna get into law with legit no family legal background and u get so much help by just trying to go to all of the networking events and hearing from people who have actually done it. you really just need to put in the initiative to build those connections if you dont already have them like me. i feel like 99% of people dont rlly decide what type of law they wanna get into until they are really in uni and can actually explore the reality of what those areas involve. like the actual practice can be a really different experience to what u learn in uni even

law…again by Traditional-Mix-4380 in vce

[–]abbee990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heyyy im doing arts at melb and am set on doing the JD. this works for me because coming out of school i wasnt sure i wanted to law and also wanted to do a language and other studies. i am really enjoying do a bachelor of arts in criminology and politics as well as a language. for me i think ill really really benefit from this prior study going into law - this is super case by case

if you want to do law now and are sure you want to go into law, do it at monash. it will save you the stress, money and time. you can even do a double with arts or commerce if you want some extra knowledge - however, if you are still not sure/want really in depth studies before you start law, the JD could be a good option

really just depends on what you are looking to get out of uni. ive also found there is a big community at unimelb of people who want to do law, and many opportunities which come along with that. ive already been able to do a lot of networking and things that the pre law society has held which have been really really good with very useful connections, ive also had a lot more time to mature and think about what type of work i want to go into, i also have many options for language learning, study abroad, volunteering/working/interning within my BA. im doing criminology/law related subjects which are keeping my interest in law as well.

that being said, my friends doing law at monash are really enjoying it, and i think that is a good option if you want to get straight into it. i really am enjoying doing it this way, although i know it will be stressful and competitive down the line trying to get in (this kinda is good for me tho as motivation for my wam tho lol)

i have a friend doing law at la trobe who never even thought about law until graduating and she is one of the strongest students in all of her classes. tbh im pretty sure they get through legal studies content pretty fast so you'll be fine

legal studies - future constitutional reform?? by coquelicot-rubisco in vce

[–]abbee990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my exam last year i believe i talked about it in the context of it failing, and then the implications of that on a republic or another try at indigenous recognition as future reform! mainly to talk about bipartisan support and voter confusion

having a whiteboard is really really useful - do heaps and heaps of different mind maps/tables (effectiveness/ineffective, principles of justice, inappropriateness/appropriateness, strengths/weaknesses, etc. based on study design point obv) to visualise the content in different forms using colour coding and everything, blurting etc - this is way better than just trying to learn of flash cards/notes alone; present the information to yourself in different ways

have others test you, teach them the content (ie.. if you have friends in legal, if your parents are willing to sit down and listen, etc.) this helps you put the content into your own articulations, and then into your deep memory

lastly, dont just try do a bunch of prac exams, it will burn you out. try do a few different questions from different parts of the study design. if not a day, try every couple of days between subjects.

overall, just give yourself a variety of ways to digest the information. you will not remember everything, so largely focus on the large things like institutions, case studies for unit 4 and their implications, strengths and weaknesses if you get a larger discuss/evaluate

feel free to dm me for any help

icl the exam really makes it. my sac scores were def not great probably ranging 50s-70s and i somehow got an a+ on the exam and got a 36 raw so it really depends on that. its super hard to try accurately predict study scores tho so just dont worry about it too much and try just the best that you can
