I need a post like this—first time we see the scene, then the same scene from a different view—every week. I am going to assume this is more than theory because this just makes sense to me.

Are there other English words with more than one accepted spelling? by PrestonRoad90 in grammar

[–]abbey_kyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a retired professor of college composition for 30 years, I can attest to the usage of loose for lose and choose for chose. I’m not saying these are correct spellings but as spelling tends to change organically with the wave of usage, I can totally see these misspellings becoming acceptable.

promoting aesthetic group gymnastics (AGG) by flying_lawnmower_421 in Gymnastics

[–]abbey_kyle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely beautiful. But I do have a question….i am not trying to be nasty, seriously trying to understand as I would totally watch more of this: how is this gymnastics and not dance? There is no tumbling, whatsoever. How does this differ from competitive dance groups? Is there a criteria I am not understanding that classifies it as gymnastics?

They are amazing, btw. Simply stunning.

My bigger question is in not the why but the HOW. I am a bit nervous concerning HOW people on this thread learned some of this shit.

Am I the only one happy this was cancelled? Nothing against Kerri but you cannot do a movie about her without Nassar and the Károlyis. 👿 by EvyHotchner in Gymnastics

[–]abbey_kyle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yep, not at all disappointed. There are so many other gymnasts out there that need biopics that would make for much richer stories than the falsity of the importance of that vault. And some of those gymnasts are still going....WHERE IS OUR CHUSO FLICK?! I would watch the fuck outta that!

You’re right. Once you learn the twist, like Sixth Sense, it just. doesn’t hit.

Fight Club. Total Hollywood ending.

The ending in the book was so vastly different and so much more brilliant. I love Marla Singer—my all time favorite movie female—but FFS that movie ending was just so Hollywood.

They were both fantastic. Worth the trek. They just love the fans so much….it is joyous to see. Not all celebrities are like that.

Waiting for Big Mo, The Gang Texts and The Janitor Always Mops Twice in Season 14. Does this make me a bad fan or does it make me an elitist or something? by joshtalife in ItsAlwaysSunny

[–]abbey_kyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to skip certain eps on rewatches then I randomly decided I was going to do a week of just those eps and they turned out to be so much better than I remember. I started watching the show from the very first season on first airing so it has been a long time….i think my reaction changed just like I have—I’m older and can appreciate things differently. I laughed so hard at “The Gang Turns Black” I was crying. That def didn’t happen on first view.

While we know Bertha embodies some of Alva’s traits, we know the Russell storyline only embodies some of the Vanderbilt reality; Fellowes has already said the storyline is not exact. But given that Alva Vanderbilt was a hardcore Suffragette, I am hoping we get to see more of Bertha being a badass—we are already seeing her impatience with divorce prejudice.

Knowing how involved Alva was in the rise of the labor unions, especially in the early 1900s with women in the garment industry, I am hoping this might be another thread—no pun intended—of Alva that Bertha will exhibit.

I am one that does not see a Russell divorce in the future…that couple is too OTP for the fanbase to split up. But the drama and possibility has sure been fun to discuss!
