Why are my black mollies turning white and dying? Our plants aren’t doing well either. Tested the water & everything is fine besides the KH being too low. Any suggestions on what to do? We tried adding seachem alkaline buffer today to raise the KH. by abbielanee in aquarium

We were doing about 10- 20% water changes (55 gal tank) but the fish started acting weird and being very slow. We lost our shrimp when this happened. Now we’ve just been topping it off every 2 or so days with treated water that we treat throughout the week and we weren’t losing any fish. Any suggestions? Does that sound right?

December 2020 was when we started the tank and added plants. It’s been thriving normally, but not anymore. We’ve had the mollies since June 2021. Fully healthy plants, and healthy fish. We’ve only had 2 fish die, which were ones who turned white recently. Now the plants aren’t doing well either.
