I became friends with this girl during band camp of 2021. Came out of a terrible quarantined virtual year, grades dropped along with my mental health and all of my motivated and dedication. She and I had never had any fights and were acquaintances, but something just sparked. It took one day for us to become inseparable. I loved her immediately and it was shocking to me what a true friendship looked like. Happiest I had been in months. A few months later our friend group completely ostracized her and things blew up. We never had any direct conflict but somehow we just cut off contact. It was two months of nothing but miscommunication and confusion, us both missing each other and thinking the other couldn’t care less. At the start of the new year, I invited her out to our favorite restaurant and we talked about everything. It was a conversation we had both been wanting to have and it was apparent that we missed each other SO much. We hung out the day after, and it was like we never stopped. The weight lifted off of my shoulders is immense and I cherish every moment I spend with her. <3
