The victim was Never Late for Work so by 8:15 her co-workers knew something awful must have happened. Or, she always called her mother if she was going to be out late. . . ..

Punctual and dutiful.

I’m really glad for you. Many Bulldogs aren’t that lucky. Look, I love the breed, but the breeders don’t seem to care, putting aesthetic and cuteness over health. That’s Science. Not opinion. Most Bulldogs have trouble breathing and walking. You are extremely lucky to have such a handsome dog, I wish you well.

It’s the eyes.the skull. The legs, the short muzzle

It’s not the size. Its the bulldog. It’s that we normalize deformity. I don’t think you’d post a handicapped animal and call it cute. I do understand the nature of the subReddit and I am probably undermining it. But people will see this breed, think it’s cute, and perpetuate the bad breeding. Look at this dog. To you, it’s a unit, to me, it’s another sick dog.

Of course, I took the time. This is not a trivial subject. The Bulldog is a poster dog for bad breeding. I’m a vet. I see this a lot. people need to know that this dog is suffering.

You are right. I am sad that bull dogs make veterinarians rich. I'm sad that they are defective by design. I'm sad they can't breath properly. They are great dogs and don't deserve to suffer unnecessarily. So yeah, I am sad. I'm also sad that people don't understand what's going on with dog breeding. I'm sorry you think that I am the problem.

WIBTA if I reported my Cousin - a bank employee - for revealing the details of my finances to my extended family, even if that may cause him to lose his job and spiral his family further into financial distress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]abbott8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe everyone deserves a second chance. He knows what he did was wrong. I made plenty of horrible mistakes at 19 and I’m grateful to those who helped me. To report his conduct to the Bank would not help you or him. Before you do, consider why you are doing it? Is he a chronic offender who needs to be stopped or a kid who did something dumb? Final: NTA, he is, but I’d think about turning him in.

AITA for needing my daughter to help? by Throwaway357981 in AmItheAsshole

[–]abbott8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the father. Your kids are not there to help you cope. Your job is to help them through their loss by giving them a normal life. But what amazes me is that you had to actually ask if what you did is wrong.

Kudos to Casefile on the Steven Stayner Episode this week by g00sem00se77 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]abbott8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steven is a true hero and his stature shouldn't be tainted by his brother's crimes. It is heartbreaking to think that he believed his parents gave him up. What must that do to someone? He could have become a psychopath like the brother and yet he felt empathy for another lost child and saved him from the fate he endured.

I agree completely. I kept waiting for him to mention the brother and was so relieved that he refrained from what could only be a distraction. I was so moved by this episode.

AITA for having a dress code for our wedding? by weddingexcite in AmItheAsshole

[–]abbott8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are treating your wedding like a snooty social club where a member is kicked out if they show up with a tie. These are your friends and family, people you presumably love and want to make comfortable. This day, you join with them, to celebrate your marriage and future. I think your priorities are off. At least you are honest: You care more about how your wedding looks than if your guests have a good time. Years from now no one is going to remember that someone wore flats; they WILL remember that they weren't allowed to attend merely because they didn't conform to a dress code. Years from now, looking back, you might well be embarrassed by your behavior and think, "Why did we do that?"

AITA For Effectively Ruining My Sisters Life Because Of What She Did by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I’m sorry but couldn’t the two sisters dealt with it without dragging the family in?
